Well after surviving five major layoffs and one corporate buyout in the last five years, it finally happend today. C&D Technologies is closing the Portland site. A few people are staying till the end of the year to close things out. I was not one of them. Not like I would want to be there.

So if anyone knows of a company looking for a R&D Electronics Tech that does fixture design & Layout, let me know. I also can do some straight forward design work as well.

One other funny thing......... this comes on the day I was supposed to meet with the guys who were going to put in my furnace since mine's dead. On hold for the moment. BURRRR!!!!!

Please note: My guns are not for sale. Actually they were all lost in a boating accident.

Sorry, to hear.
Yea, I know a company that could use you,
but as you know, that company isn't hiring outside.

Yeah, layoffs suck.  Join the club.  I've been laid off twice from Tektronix, vacated MedicaLogic before it went bankrupt, had contracts expire at HP and Intel in the last 10 years and drawn unemployment for two or three times.

If it's not outsourcing, it's no revenue.  Damn, High Tech sucks these days.
Thank god for reloading.

Thanks guys for the support. One of the worst things about it is that I REALLY enjoyed working with the people there. We had around 100 people there and all of them would put 120% effort into a project 99% of the time.

I will truely miss seeing them every day.

Eff that company.  Hey, did they offer you a transfer to Antarctica, with a pay rate of $5/hr?
