From an NRA Alert that I received the other day:

TEXAS: Texas Legislative Update!  This week, the House gave final approval to Senate Bill 112, NRA-backed legislation preventing the confiscation of firearms from law-abiding citizens during a future state of emergency or natural disaster.  The bill now moves to Governor Rick Perry (R) for his expected signature.

It's a damn shame a law has to be passed to enforce common sense.

So the cops won't be able to disarm you if they feel threatened?  I'll bet in the big city the cops will feel threatened by anyone with a gun.

Does anyone have a link to the actual wording of the bill?

They can still disarm you if they perceive a threat. But they cannot confiscate the gun unless they arrest you or they seize it as evidence in a crime.

It's already been signed by the Gov'nr.

Currently on his desk awaiting signature, according to the Actions Record.

Well, there is the loophole!!!  Hmmm you're perceived as a threat and you get arrested, so now they just have to remove you from your home to somewhere (and it's not the Hilton!).  The usual arrest now and let the judge figure things out.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, nobody is home, except for the newly arrived looters!!!
