You can apparently gift iPhone apps. Our very own ThomasH built this awesome Mil-Dot app for the iPhone. The interface is slick and very intuitive. Bunch of useful tools all in one screen.

Therefore: 1 copy of Mil-Dot Rangefinder Pro.

Does an Ipod Touch count?  I thought those ran Iphone apps?

ETA: or is this one that pulls real-time data off the network?

Should work with a Touch, but I'm not certain.

Might be hard to follow the rules though.

No iPhones in Washington, eh?

Must be the soft drink factory.

Or is it no mil-dots?

Well I meet the rest of the requirements but no iPhone.  I prefer a company with a network that actually works when you need it to.

ETA: per the youtube "preview video" info it says it should work on a Touch.

I've got a mil-dot scope, but no iPhone, and no plans to ever get one.

Would it work on an HTC Droid Incredible?  I might be willing to upgrade to one of those.

great PIF (Not In) … as I was already given a ‘Promotional Code’ which allows me to download a free copy of the App; if and when I can ever get the downtime to take advantage of ThomasH’s offer.

this is the rifle 'setup' that I’ll be using with the iPod™ Touch® Mil-Dot App. as this is my one and only ‘Mil-Dot’ reticle scope … the Bushnell® 3200 Tactical Elite™

Model: GameStalker .300-OSSM
Oly Part #GS300
Upper Type: Forged A3 Flat Top w/ Picatinny Rails
Front Sight: n/a … has trimmed gas block w/o picatinny rails
Handguard: Slotted lightweight free floating aluminum tube w/ knurling
Barrel:22” 416 stainless steel, fluted button rifled barrel.
Chambering: .300 Olympic
Bore: Long-life non-chromed bore
Twist rate: 1x12
Muzzle: Crown
Stock: ACE™ brand ARFX® skeleton stock
Grip: Ergo® brand Tactical Deluxe pistol grip

Scope: Bushnell® 3200 Tactical Elite™ w/ Mil-Dot Reticule
Scope Riser: YHM® -227A
Scope Rings” Weaver® Quad-Lock™
Magazine: Dtech modified 20-round

this last 3-round grouping that I shot with the .300-OSSM is quite suitable (IMHO) for M.O.B. ‘Minute Of Bear’ and I’m pretty sure that I and the rifle can do much better, once I can get my hands on a set of reloading-dies.

this 3-round group (if you want to call it that) was shot at 100yrds. from the bench, and this grid pattern on these Birchwood Casey® targets are on a 1in. graph; so the group is about 1.25 - 1.5 MOA with the larger measurement being at 1.710

and I’m betting that the groups will get better in time! as I have only shot (12) rounds on this GS® .300-OSSM UR so far, with the available OAI 150gr. Factory HSM® ammunition.

LOL, you STILL haven't downloaded the app?  Chances are the code will not work for you anymore, they are only good for 4 weeks.  Let me know if it doesn't work for you.

Oh, In then.

That's the one I want, but I'll probably end up with a less expensive model.

Sorry for the crappy pic of my iPhone 3G

Just a heads up, v2.1 was released today, and it requires iOS4 (not the iPhone 4, just the new OS).  I'm working on making it 3.1.3 compatible, I just haven't found a reliable way to have it exclude execution of the iOS 4 dependent code yet.  But the good news is all you have to do if your not running iOS 4, is download the update.

ETA: just submitted the version that's compatible with 3.1.3.  Look for it in the next week or two.

ETA: 2.1.1 has been released.  It restores support for iOS 3.1.3
