A FRIEND IN CALIFORNIA WANTS TO BUT A BUSHMASTER .  XM15 LOOKS TO BE ON THE BANNED LIST BUT DO THEY STILL MAKE A J-15 THATS NOT ON THE BANNED LIST? THANKS

I don't think Bushmaster made a different model number, marked on the receiver, so probably a no-go.

Your friend should purchase an off list lower, so that there is no confusion if he is detained by law enforcement.

The only Bushmasters I know of that are truly off-list are the Bushmaster Carbon 15
receviers/guns,  and the (now cancelled) Bushmaster BAR10 308 rifle.

The day-to-day Bushy ARs are marked Bushmaster XM15, which is banned.
