So is the shooting part at a range or at a gravel pit or something? If at a range is there a charge and how much? What do we need to bring for th BBQ?
A gravel pit, a remote one not populated by loons. My group goes there about once a month.
Bring whatever you want to cook and drink, we'll provide the cooking hardware. [edited to clarify] |
Well I will have to check my busy schedule but will definately give a tentitive "I'm in!" Anyone else need a ride from the Maple Valley/Renton area?
Tweak, I will get with you later for directions etc. Thanks. |
Simple directions,
Meet up is 1100, 19JUL, outside of Elma, WA. There is a gravel turn out on the south side of the overpass at the intersection of HWY 8 and HWY 12. From there, we're convoying out. |
I am penciling this into my schedule. Its a 110 mile drive from my house!
E-mail rec'd 2Manchu.
Bring whatever you usually go shooting with and food to cook, drinks to drink. Bring, friends, wives, kids whatever. Just a laid back day of plinking then we can adjourn to my place in McCleary for BBQ. |
well shoot since i actually live in elma it would be pathetic if i did not show up. So where are we meeting. Im sure if read more i would find it but im lazy.
edited to add can you be more specific about which exit and exactly which gravel turn out. Is it by the texaco/tacobell or is it by the truckstop and bowling alley. |
So how many folks do we have going to this shindig? It's starting to sound too good to miss. Anyplace a guy could crash around there for the night in case a certain someone were to consume a little too much frothy cold beverage at the BBQ?
I am 80% sure Im going. I willo be leaving around 3ish though to cover previous engagement in Seattle.
Ok, stupid question. Is the barbeque over a fire or on a gas grill? Reason I ask is that I don't like the taste of the gas on my steak so if it is a gas grill I will most likely bring burger instead.
I know, I know.... Mmmm, some baby back ribs and a couple of Coors Lites sure sound good right about now!!! |
I too dislike gas grills and we have a charcoal grill on hand, with an unknown one coming down from Seattle.
So far looks to be about 20 people, mebbe a little more. There is room, on the floor or the hideabed, at my place, for early arrivals or late departures. |
Looks like steaks then. Or maybe Johnsonville brats. Dang, I shouldn't post when I'm hungry!
Michele says you better be there she wants to shoot your drum magged AK again. |
Real guns? You mean this isn't an airsoft get together? |
I never takje it out to play anymore, so if M wants it, IT IS coming! BTW...I took care of my Sat AM ...'meeting'. I will be there with bells on! 80% just went NK to 110%.... SHADOWS is in! yeewhoo! Tweak, did you talk to coversix? My PC died, I have NO email addy... |

Coversix is inbound with one WG101 assault grill runway 090.
CV, the "female you" will also be there, running heavy with an MG3 and a modified RPD. M sez she'll be sleepy but she'll make it, she's got a graveyard shift Fri night but her vacation starts Saturday.
You can bring all the airsoft you want Phil, we'll need some comic relief. |
Cool, maybe it will end up being our very own ARFKOM version of "hunting bambi" |

_twist and I are planning on attending.....providing against unforeseen circumastances.....looking forward to it...
could use some help though....anyone know where to get inexpensive .308 locally ? got a G3 needs breakin' in..... any help will be appreciated t |
I used to get SA battle packs at The Marksman in Puyallup for $21/per. Bullseye used to have the same stuff for $24/per. Also, Larry's in Olympia usually has quite a bit of 7.62 on hand, though at higher prices.
I'm tempted to show up. SHould be an awesome day weather wise and fun wise. Only thing I hate is driving so far. Will have to see
From Sammamish? 3/4 the attendees are coming from that far. You can post the the WA Shooters list, maybe catch a car pool.
My bad, on checking my female to male dictionary she meant a Garand. Did you have a Garand? I thought that was Paul and Joe. Speaking of Joe, he wrote me and said he might have issues showing up. Wanna help me cajole him into it? |
Roger that, That would be the navy guys with the ancient weapons!
Joe needs to have his 4 corner point of contact there! If Paul can drive up from So. Cal, Joe can drive down from Bellingham! |
Somebody needs to bring a digicam! The last couple of group shoots were kinda lame on the fun pics!
ok, mk_ultra and myself definately are down.
one problem - transportation. his car is a pos and mine is way over the milage for my lease. i mailed phil_in_seattle about carpooling so this is just another place to catch his attention or anyone elses. we're in n seattle. would be willing to drive to tacoma/federal way to catch a ride. meet in the walmart parking lot or something (need some 9mm anyway). would pay gas and buy the benefactor lunch. any takers? |
Is anyone bringing shotgun stuff. Thrower, clays etc. I'm thinking about bringing the Mossy.
Drive in reverse? Ya'll won't fit in my tiny ass truck with all of my gear, that's a problem. Let me see what I have in 30-06 airsoft ammuntion around Tweek maybe I can pack along my airsoft Garand. |
if i get there... my mossy'll be in tow. no thrower or clays. figure a 1' stump will be an adequete target.
alright, but you're missing out on free grub. anyone else want us slackjaws riding shotty (figuratively and literally)? |

Thanks for that CavVet! You are more than welcome to help yourself to all the ammo you want that I left at the quarry, you'll just have to peel them off of the back of the pit.
