Holly Mong has only been with the Richmond Police Department for about six months, but she's already had a test of courage and skill. On the morning of Jan. 31, 2006, the rookie cop was met by two armed carjackers when she went to start her truck. Even though she was startled, Holly used her training and some quick thinking to defuse the situation. When the men told her to climb over to the passenger seat, Holly grabbed her gun and fired -- killing one perp and seriously wounding the other. Two other suspects were charged with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon.
