Last night on a show I think was called "The Investigators" the detectives went to check out a crackhouse for tips or evidence of a missing person.  The two main detectives in the show were a woman in a pant suite- i think from the fbi and an older guy who doesn't look like the type to be getting his hands too dirty in the field.

well, they were standing outside the crackhouse in broad daylight with the new albany police.  There wasn't a swat team per se, or at least one that I could see, but the 7 or so officers and detectives had plainclothes or suits on and their gear slung over.  one guy had an AR with an Vltor collapsible in place of his ribbed stock and at least two others had M4 type or shorter carbines with the standard ribbed stocks.  One guy, might have been the main guy from the show, had no carry handle and was using a rear standalone flip up.

Well I just checked Keyhole and damn, New Albany is on the border.

So, f*ck you then.  Your Kentucky Detective came into Indiana to raid the crackhouse and it was the Indiana boys with the good gear.

nevermind...

by looking at his reply, i don't think either of us need him as a friend.  if you look on a map of indiana, i'm up at the NW corner.  I can throw a stone into illinois and the sand from lake michigan is only a 10 minute drive away.  new albany is at the opposite end of the world for all practical purposes.  people in lafayette (50 minutes from me) even think NW indiana people are from chicago.  I had a chicago accent.

just making a point- i'm not familiar with any city or county south of indianapolis and i'm a land surveyor.  the show was about a guy in kentucky and the way it was edited, it seemed they walked across the street to a crackhouse and for all i knew, they were on the south side of kentucky.

ETA:  KEEP YOUR CRACKHEADS OUT OF MY STATE!!!

new albany is known to many central kentuckians as "right over the river".  I know people that live there but I  have been to parts that looked like "crackville" by accident.....got lost.  These parts exist in almost every urban area though.  They got Casino gamblin though to help out the situation.

Casino gambling because of the river?  Are the casinos in IN or KY?  We've got 4 or 5 up here on the lake for people to spend their welfare checks.  I just don't get it.  I pay taxes.  My taxes pay for people to live on welfare and the checks go immediately into the casinos.  Why don't the casinos send me checks every month?

Well hell..I live in New Albany...as for getting the gambling money? Nope..the churchies voted that down and it went to Harrison county, right on the Floyd County border, where New Albany, is..

Yes, those in Kentuck think they have the rights to this side of the river, but we let them think that they own us...as long as they come over here and gamble away their life savings, then that's fine with us!!

As for those NA cops with the AR's...that's scary enough..I was a reserve officer there..99% of them are horrible shots, with everything in their cars..

What else are the local elderlies going to spend their social security checks on?

FOOD?

I'm glad to know I support a 75 yo grannie's addiction to gambling.
