I'm visiting Chicago next week and was wanting to go to the Blackhawks game while I'm there. Do you guys know what the availibility of tickets is like this year? can you buy them outside the stadium? what's the going rate for a "cheap" ticket?

I would't buy them near the station. It isnt like old times.

Ticket exchange is your safest bet

Ticket exchange via the Blackhawks website...300 level seats can usually be found for $65 or so...
Stubhub is another option. I know people have had good luck but I haven't tried it yet...

I'll try to check those out. I know they're the defending stanley cup champs, but DAMN! $65 for 300 level seats! WOW! I saw the stars a few nights ago for $55 10 rows up from the glass!!!!








 

I've used Stubhub for sports and a couple times for other shows. Never had a problem.  They have some $30 300lvl goal tickets and $50+ 300lvl center tickets.  Go Hawks!

It's not just now that they are champs.  A buddy of mine came into town about 10 years ago - he didn't have any extra tickets but wanted me to go to the Hawks game and out afterwards.  I went with and bought a ticket at the window before the game and asked for the cheapest seat they had.  Even back then when they were nowhere near sold out it was damn near $50 for a cheap seat.  Thankfully the people next to him left and I sneaked in to a seat about 10 rows up.  The cheap seats SUCK IMHO.

Hmm. I have played hockey my whole life, I can watch the game from anywhere and enjoy it. I looked at stub hub, I may go that route.
