Superb course.  Kyle Lamb is a tremndous instructor (and Anthony Magnum did an outstanding job with setting up the course).

Highly recommended.  My sons raved about it all the way back to Fayetteville.  Be prepared to shoot and scoot.  And be zeroed at 100 meters!!!!  I'm a believer now.

What's the cost on the carbine course?

$350, plus ammo.  VTAC requested 1500 rds (left that out before) of carbine ammo (assumed to be 5.56mm, but there was one round of 6.8mm SPC...) and 500 rounds of pistol ammo each.

Between the four of us (originally planned to be 5) that attended together, we probably shot 750-900 rounds and less than 100 rounds of pistol, so we have lots of ammo now.

I have always wanted to go to a tactical carbine class but I don't know what to expect. Is this friendly to people with limited carbine experience (I just shoot for fun)?

I'd say so.

My oldest is in that catergory (the youngest is a tanker in 1-252 Armor in the 30th Bde).  He learned a lot, did well, etc.

Come with a 100 yard zero though.

Since I am in the training business myself (although not the advanced marksmanship training business - we teach other things, like PSD), and having done the-then 'state-of-the-art' advanced pistol marksmanship / CQB course while in Special Forces, I will tell you its not the name of the company that makes a course - its the guy teaching the course.

Kyle is a superb instructor and his bonafides are unimpeachable.  And since its his company, I'd expect any instructor he hired to be 'up to snuff' (VTAC is too small to run on reputation alone, unlike the place you named).

When I set up PSD training for a military unit I make sure I hire guys like Kyle.  I do the paperwork and let them do what they do best.  He impressed me, which I let you judge.  Everything he teaches he's done in real-life with green tracers coming back towards him, in hot and dusty places.

Damn good course.
