Will it be worth going too? I've read that many people were disappointed with the Harrisburg show which is supposed to be bigger and better the Valley Forge.

Valley Forge, for me, is a lot closer than Harrisburg. The show itself is usually good and at this time of the year will be crowded.

I plan on going but not sure which day. I'd like to go on Saturday but better deals are on Sunday.
No matter which day that you choose, go early to insure yourself a parking space.

How would I go about selling a Saiga Rifle at the show?  Would they allow me to just walk in with it even though I am not a vendor?

I go to the show alot.  I'll be there this Saturday looking for HK stuff. There's generally good vendors out there, but there are a few jackasses (one guy last year told me the Springfield XD was going to be hard to get).  I picked up a great SIG 228 at a very good price.

I think some of the prices there are inflated, nothing you can't get on the internet cheaper.  But it's fun to go and it's fun to hang out with like-minded people (yah, even you Glock guys ;-) )

I'm hoping to get an unissued Yugo SKS and see what else crops up.

Bringing a Colt Commander maybe trade it for a full size .45 or maybe a CZ75 or clone. Also my IAI M1 carbine wanna sell it or trade it and get an all USGI one. Its been a great shooter with no problems but want an original.

The last few have been pretty good shows actually .

Wonder what the ammo prices will be .

Also my BM 20 " HBAR will be coming along for sale or trade

they make you check firearms you are going to try to sell or are going to have out in the open at the show.  Your CCW is concealed, so they shouldn't know that you have it anyway.....but that's just my opinion, not the rules of the show....

I would like to know that also.  I have been to the last 6 shows and I never carry while I'm in there.  The signs just say you need to check your guns but nothing about CCW.

With CCW, if you answer YES at the counter that you are carrying the gentlemen at the counter will ask for the pistol.

They will clear the pistol for you.

They will thread and tie a plastic tie strap through the camber to render the pistol inoperative.

They will hand your pistol back to you all tied up.

The above takes place if you answer YES when they ask you if are you carrying today.

Honestly, I think it is a good idea...  I carry my CCW to shows and I remove the mag and empty the chamber as soon as I get in the door...  let them check the gun... do the show... and then cut the strap and load a mag before I exit the building again.

Too many people are not careful with their guns and the last thing any of us need is some idiot trying out a holster with a loaded gun and they shoot someone else... much less us!

With a pocket knife you can have a loaded gun in seconds if you needed a gun but there are so many guns in there that any criminal that you would need to shoot will not last long...

gotcha, Quarterbore got it right though, if you plan on un-holstering at the show, then it's a good idea....

I went to the show today and I unloaded at the door.  No big deal.

I finally picked up a Beta C mag for my AR for $240.  Good price for a face to face purchase.

I left my gun in the car even though I hate doing that.  Usally the sign says to check your firearms but today it said no loaded firearms, I think that is the first time they ever said that.

Anyone pick up anything good?

I only got some xm193, some rail covers and a gift for the christmas xchange

I thought there were a number of good deals around...  Some prices were high while others were pretty good.  Lots of tables...

I didn't buy much but NEW 50 cal ammo cans for $5 were too tempting as wel as NEW SAW cans for $7.  Ammo prices on average were a little more then I remember from the past but still not bad.  Several tables were selling South African 308 and I was wishing I had researched my headstamps before I went....

We spent a lot of time at the show...  worth the admission price for those looking for an idea of what to do today.

I found a good deal today at the show; 1k of Q3131 in boxes of 20 rounds - $185.  The fella selling it had 2k, but being this close to Christmas I could only buy 1k. The prices on XM193 was much higher than the last VF show, I got it last time for $96 for 500.

Thanks MDN.  I picked up a Plainfield in real nice shape for $430.00 out the door for my buddy.  I posted this in another area and the guys said I paid too much.  I only saw a few cheaper than this and they were Universals which I was told to stay away from.

I thought the gun show was good as always.  There were alot of airsoft things there though this year, I guess the xmas demand.

The Vector 51's were interesting as was the Marrs 51K pistol.  First time I'd seen one of those.  There were a few MP5's there with sears, but the prices were outrageous.  In terms of HK stuff that would interest me, not much.  A few SOCOM's that were way too much and pistols that were way too much.  Some suppressors that were reasonable.

one of the things I saw that was cool was an original HK Chantilly Benelli with the single tube mag.  That's a good shotgun for collection purposes.  The USMC Benelli was cool too.

I really didnt see many AR things there, I was looking for a POF lower but to no avail.

the XM193 was pretty high.

The earplug guy seemed to do well which is good.

The HK94's at Phoenix were from NJ, there was really one 1 good one there in terms of finish.  One had some surface rust on the front sight post that indicated bad care.

the guy I bought my 228 from last time showed me his ROBAR'd MP5SD...it was sweet.  It was a post sample.

MP5 mags were way overpriced and generally looked in bad condition.

I did see a P9S in .45 and 9mm that looked NIB.

The Plainfields are probably the best non USGI clone you can get. Not sure if you paid too much as I havent seen one for sale lately. The universals sell on GB and other sites for $350-$400.

I would probably have waited and gotten one of the Import marked carbines for $500-$575 range.

Guy I got mine from had a really nice Inland for $499 I will probably be getting in the next week or so. Should have got it at the show but didn't want to charge too much more.

Well, I bought a cannon from the cannon guy near the front door! (Never thought I would say that)  Also picked up a little Kel-tech .380 pea shooter pocket gun for $ 200. No clue if it will work but like the idea of them. Plus a few other little odds and ends such as a box of ammo, tools, etc.

You can always find better prices online but at the shows you can touchy feely.

BTW, the HK94's that I saw Sunday afternoon were all going for $ 2400.

My next toy will be a M14 so I spent sometime looking and learning. Amazing that many who were selling them knew next to nothing about them.
