I had emailed RCI to find out how much their X-RAIL was going to cost. They finally got back to me today. Well the prices are more than double what I was expecting, and there is no way I am buying one now.

For the full length X-RAL... $699, and the compact one $649. Or both compact and full with one mount for $999. Screw that!! It isn't even practical, so why would people pay that much? That costs as much or more than the gun depending on which model you own.

Here is the response from their email.

that's steep! I have a 1300 defender anyways, as if I needed an excuse outside of the price!

Looks neat but at that price I will start looking for a Saiga.

Yep, most likely relegated to the "street sweeper" category, so it will be impossible to find and worth a small fortune. A capacity of 23 rounds on a 12-ga shotgun means at least 46 potentially murdered nuns and babies to the Brady bunch, right?

ETA: Did they really type "threw" instead of "through" in that email? Jeez. That thing is riddled with grammatical errors. It's like my former Tech EE professors wrote it, or something.
