They did not have the traffic flowing at the house til around 4PM. Accident happened two traffic lights from the house.

Very tragic accident for the county and the Sheriffs office. Sgt Greene is very well known and loved  in the community.

Driver was arrested and transported to jail for vehicular manslaughter. By the skid marks looks like he was trying to miss the tanker stopped in the center lane and jack knifed the rig and rolled the truck over on top of Sgt Greene. The cruiser was mashed FLAT.

Sheriff Cathey, all deputies responding, Monroe PD, Monroe Fire and Highway Patrol did stop and pray for Sgt Greene and his family. One of the Monroe Fire stations is at this intersection and the scene was surrounded my fire trucks to keep prying eyes out.
Highway Patrol accident reconstruction team out of Raleigh was at the scene all day.

I can't post the pictures but the Sheriffs office and friends of the family kept all of us updated yesterday on social media.

Rest In Peace Sgt Greene
