Anybody been there?
Any details appreciated.
Are they worth a visit?

Here's a link to thier web site:
www.tropgunshop.com/

I have a vacation coming up and not much planned so I thought I might expand my gun store visiting a bit.

Lotsa stuff - rifles, black rifles, handguns, accessories, reloading, camping, hunting, fishing.  Hard to believe they pack so much stuff in a relatively small space.  Guess it depends on where you're coming from whether you would consider it worth the trip.  Prices vary from good deal to ?.  There is also a pretty big sporting goods store (including guns) within about 2 miles from Trop's but the name escapes me for now.  If you are going let me know and I'll come up with the name unless someone else can fill in my blank memory.

From what I can remeber when in lived in Middletown and what my brother tells me they are good place to deal with. Like bojangles said, some good deal to ? I think my brother got a good deal on a pre-garcia sako a few years ago. The other store I think he is referring to is Kinsey's Archery store. A greta place for the archery hunter, bows, arrows, camo, treestands, and accesories, plus some awesome taxidermy.

Tropp is a fantastic place.  With a taxidermy shop and a Gunsmith in the basement, the only thing they DON’T do is pure custom guns and anything Class III related.  They have everything else you might want though.
My only complaint against them is from what happened to me about a year or two ago.  My Glock 17 was having trouble firing off ammo.  The spring for the striker was weak.  I brought it in to have it fixed.  I was recommended to Dave Sams over in Livitz.
Who promptly forgot about the gun until I called him up a month later and asked what was taking so long.  Dave does good work, but if you don’t watch him, he can do some extra work on your rifle.  A few years ago he recrowned a rifle without me telling him to do so.  The rifle already had been recrowned before.  It was shooting Very well and didn’t need to be recrowned.
As for Tropp; They occasionally bring in firearm specialists.  They’ve been known to bring in Glock Armorers as a promotional treat.  They would check out the customers Glock for free.  And if there was something wrong they would fix it.  As my Glock was in perfect order, I wouldn’t know what they would have charged for any repair.  I’d like to have one of them Armorers check my Glock over again.

In short, Tropp is a fantastic place to buy a firearm.  Or firearm related.  But I’d hesitate to have them do anything beyond minor repair work on anything.
