I'm in search of forum member recommendations of a bonded and insure tree service to take down and cut back some trees on my property south of Old Town Alexandria.

I will look to see who I used last summer. We had to get a couple of large trees taken down along with some trimming of other trees last summer. We got 3 quotes for the work. Interesting thing was, two of the three companies were very close on the total but the break down was way off from each other. Example...1st company wanted $1000 for tree A and $700 for tree B. 2nd company wanted $1200 for tree A and only $500 for tree B. The 3rd company was even more all over the place with their quote and their total was way higher then the first two. The 3rd company was also pushing to treat my ash trees for several thousand more even through they said the tress were most likely beyond saving.

Those guys are great, price is as good as anyone, and their work is first rate.  Just plain good people, too.

They don't have a real Web site hence the Angie's List link. They are a small operation but they do excellent work and go the extra mile to clean up after themselves; after tree removal, the dude walked halfway down my block making sure any sawdust, etc. was blown off people's cars and out of their yards.
