Hi any Hawaiian members know of a good place to transfer rifles at in or around Honolulu? Im sending my cousin who just came back from Iraq a NIB Bushmaster M4 and need to know who charges the cheapest or is the best dealer to do the transfer with. As I live in Las Vegas. Any help would be appreciated. Mahalo.

I have only used Kaneohe gun shop since I live about a mile away. Sorry I cannot remember what they charged but I remember it was the cheapest out of the stores that I asked and it was the closest.

What would the excise tax amount be on a $300.00 used bushmaster lower?

General excise tax in hawaii is 4.167%.

Last couple of times I went through Al he only charged the excise tax on the $25 he is charging for the transfer fee. In other words, fee + tax = $26.04 per transfer. He did not charge the tax on the amount of the RRA lowers I was bringing in.
