Do we have a listing of current courses and schools operating in Middle TN and available for regular schmucks like me? Not looking for a whole list of courses but maybe a listing of places that offer classes?
One's I know of: Tactical Response (Camden, controversial) Royal Range (Nashville, offers Gunsite) Outpost Armory (Murfreesboro) Nashville Armory (Nashville) Strategic Edge (Chapel Hill, precision rifle) Is PRI still operating? Anyone know of a red dot pistol or basic night vision course from a reputable instructor(s)? Might be willing to take a weekend trip to East TN if the school is reputable and affordable enough. |

PRI has been out of the game for a while.
Royal Range is about the best out there right now for indoor range training in the Nashville area. They have a RDS course which is pretty good. |

Strategic Edge does more than precision rifle classes. BTW, I highly recommend the SE PS I course. I took it last year and Tony (the owner) is an excellent teacher.
There is Marshman Training just south of the border in Elkmont AL: https://www.mtcrange.com/about-us Know nothing of them but their website. There is a 1000 yard range NE of Pelham TN. I had to cancel from a 2 day PR course last year unfortunately. Elk River Training, There is a range east of Ethridge, TN (Lawrence county), don't recall the name, but they may have training courses. They shoot IPSC/Action Pistol type matches. There is Top Guns also near Ethridge, TN. https://www.topgun-arms.com/ These guys probably know about the range discussed above. They are not the same. There is a big rifle range north of Dunlap, don't recall the name, but someone here will remember it. Don't know if they offer training, but the range is highly spoken of here. Dead Zero, something like that. |

View Quote In the hope of keeping this thread sane, I'll just say it's owner and founder is what makes the school controversial. I've taken several classes there and thought it was good training but that was over a decade ago. Hell I just realized my avatar picture is from the precision rifle class I took over there in like 2010 or so. I would just say to google James Yeager and read up a little. |

Also, there's this: https://www.strategicadvantage-education.com/ Never been there myself but I know the owner, he's a good dude. |

I am a member at Dead Zero and shoot long range steel challenge matches there monthly. Their rifle range is probably the best in the state. Electronic targets at 100, 300, 600, 800 and 1000 and steel at all of those distances. They have numerous pistol/pcc bays, and their shotgun courses are amazing, though I've not shot them personally. They are an active IDPA club. The only training I'm aware of there though is the permit class.

Hilltop Training Center just west of Dover off 79. They host some "name" trainers. A buddy from the 82nd drove all the way out here for either Blowers or Fisher.
