If you are talking about Texas Combat Shooters every other Thursday yes. I started with them a couple of months ago and have been to two shoots. They are very friendly for first time / new shooters.
The first time you shoot they will give you a range brief before and answer any questions you have. So I would show up at least 10 minutes before the shoot. Also when you show up do not put your pistol on until you have cleared it at the safe bays. Just carry your unloaded pistol to the line in your bag and they will show you the lane to clear and holster it at. Also make sure that you do not have a magazine in your weapon at any time other that when you are in the lane and told to make ready.
Also try to go slow and just be safe your first time. You are not going to be the fastest or best shooter the first night so just enjoy yourself.
