Ive got a Glock 20 that im gonna put a 6" Lonewolf barrel on to be used (primarily) for hunting and I want to make sure I stay compliant. LW wont have any standard 6" barrels available for a couple of months and I dont want to wait that long which is why I am currently exploring alternative options. I think im GTG with just a threaded barrel but I am not sure if I would potentially run into any issues with ENCON law while hunting or being over the weight restrictions on handguns if I went with the muzzle comp on the threaded barrel.

Any of our legal eagles here in the NYHTF have any info on this that youd care to share? Any input is greatly appreciated.

I don't see any issue as long as the barrel is under 8 inches and the manufactured weight is under 50 oz. unloaded. As always you're on your own and YMMV.

What does "8 inches" have to do with any pistol?

Being he is adding after market parts,I would think that "manufactured weight" doesn't apply,as he is not manufacturing the gun.

Your good to go with your mods on a Glock.

(c) a semiautomatic pistol that has an ability to accept a detachable
magazine and has at least two of the following characteristics:
 (i) an ammunition magazine that attaches to the pistol outside of the
pistol grip;
 (ii) a threaded barrel capable of accepting a barrel extender, flash
suppressor, forward handgrip, or silencer;
 (iii) a shroud that is attached to, or partially or completely
encircles, the barrel and that permits the shooter to hold the firearm
with the nontrigger hand without being burned;
 (iv) a manufactured weight of fifty ounces or more when the pistol is
unloaded;

He says he plans on hunting with it.

http://www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/35010.html reads:

* It is illegal to hunt with:

a fully automatic firearm;
an autoloading firearm that holds more than 6 shells (except an autoloading pistol with a barrel length under 8 inches);
any firearm equipped with a silencer.

Edit: Better yet, go here for the same text which applies to ALL animals, not just deer\bear and reads the same: http://www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/28182.html

There's a forensic firearms expert on LI that believes a Glock with a threaded barrel is illegal. I'm too lazy to find the archived thread.

I think you're recalling this incorrectly. The conversation was about threads under a pinned and welded brake, not on a pistol barrel.

IIRC It had to do with Glock pistols having a full-auto model. The threaded barrel was another issue he was willing to testify to. I'll try and find the archived thread on Friday.
