If I don't get called in to work I will go even though I don't have many bullets.  Damn this poorness.

Anubis, I don't know how many miles it is, but its no more than 30 minutes at most from the start point.

I'm 99% sure I can make it. Is this going to be shooting only, or are we going to "do" lunch as well?

There has been an ad in the classifieds (guns/knives) a guy selling tannerite for $75.00 for a case of 20. is this a good deal? If so, I'll get a case.

I plan on trying to make it. (hows that for a noncommital political answer)

May have to show shoot and go, but really want to be there. I've got a couple of pistols to test before they go off for finishing, and a M4 that also needs attention, but mainly I like to watch.

Sick, eh?

I'm 100% in on this. I just confirmed a deal on the Tannerite. Now, for the food side of this. Who's bringing what, and what ya want me to drag up there? Carbine10, ya bringing your mixing stuff? If not let me know, and I'll scare up something. I'll probably just go on out there in the morning since I know the way. Same spot, correct?

Just bring ice chest, soda, water, and I'm just going to make me a sandwich to take for lunch. Also some chips.   Will bring the grill out on the next shoot.

75.00 is a good deal on a case of Tannerite.   I just looked and I have two bottles of Tannerite. I also have a hand sifter and bowls to break down the white stuff. If you know what I mean. I can't believe I said white stuff. No this isn't a Coke-N-Shoot outing. Back in the old days it might of been fun though.

Gunslinger808, They haven't been real big shoots. Nice small fun shoots. This way we know we don't have any muzzles being pointed  at us.  We would be glad to have you and Annarchy come up. I'll post our next North shoot  in a farther advance notice It's kinda like the AZSTAN area.

But it's nesteled in the Bradshaw Mountain Range and is on legal BLM land to shoot on.

Might be a few ATV riders out there, but we all need practice on moving targets

Checking in here. One member +1 noob as a guest. He will be an ARFCOMMER soon though. I just need to function test 2 1911's and make sure my YHM flip front is moving gas properly, but I never miss a chance to meet the other evil black gun owners.

See you all in the A.M.

It's amazing that a half a dozen guns firing repeatedly can't seem to hit a little plastic bottle. Me included. It was a good time, I apologize I had to leave earlier than I wanted to, I'm lucky she let me hang as long as I did, you all know how women can be. (not YOU Jane) I'm hoping that next Sunday coyote3 will assist me in dialing in that Leoupold so I can back-up y'alls missed shots. That said, thanks for another successful NSG outing. Next time, WE BBQ!

I have major racoon eyes. So yes, my face got a little burn't.   Was great to see the regular guys as well as the new ones.

Tannerite was a blast.     My AR10 was dialed in pretty well for the Tannerite. That is with my cheap ass BSA Mil-Dot scope.

Coyote3,  thanks for letting me shoot that 762 pistol.  It's a snapper!

Next time we'll have to do a group buy of Tannerite.  And yes I'll bring the grill.

  Let's say Sunday October 24th, 2004.

Or the 17th is good for me as well. We could celebrate my birthday with tannerite instead of candles

OK, time for the dumbass, roob question of the day!

I was very proficient with the 16A1 and A2 in the Infantry, but that was back in 89-93.  I have yet to make my first AR purchase, but am saving for one now.  So here I am, perusing this site, listening and learning and soaking up all the wonderful wisdom you veterans have to offer and the term "tannerite" keeps popping up.

Now I can pretty easily infer that 1) it is used as a target, 2) it ain't cheap and, 3) when shot it goes boom, pop, or pow.  But exactly what the hell is it?  Someone mentioned "mixing the white powder" so I assume it is some light explosive that, when properly mixed, makes grown men with big guns smile like giddy school girls.

I did a search on it, but have been unable to locate exactly what it is, where to buy it, if it's safe for the desert (no fire hazard) yadda yadda yadda...  anyone here wanna be a gent and help me out please?

Considering I'm an A/C Tech. Yes I would have to say, I get more sun than most anybody.

And I still got racoon eyes. I even wore my "Drunk Machine Gunners Club" hat. At work I don't wear a hat. Except when the temp get's above 112 degree.

I couldn't work inside ever again. And yes even though it's October. It still did get up to around 95 degree's on Sunday.

My arms didn't burn at all. They stay tanned year round.
