I know there is a sticky but I wanted comments to. I live and ky and we are very pro gun. You open carry just about anywhere, no mag restrictions, not much is limited in any way

CWP is shall-issue.

Carry in vehicle without a permit is OK in glove box or console.

NFA is OK.

ATP has some jacked up prices.

Skiggy,
Just curious, why do you want to move out of Kentucky?

It's about 3 months when you first get it.  Renewals go fairly quickly.

Unless they have issues with printing the card and no one works on it, then say they'll fix it and send it out and still nothing happens. In that case probably more like 4.5 months, but no I'm not bitter about it.

Class 3 is a go.

CWP is allowed to have their weapons in their vehicle while on school grounds. Makes it easier to pick up the kids from school instead of going home to disarm. This includes daycare.

Sc legislators (some of them) are trying to enact legislation to allow us to CCW into places that sell alcohol for on premises consumption... like restaurants... Applebee's, Chili's, etc we can't CCW in right now. Stupid law won't allow it. We must be inbred or something. Not like those Virginians and Floridians. They can CCW in an establishment that sells alcohol for on premises consumption.

Whats the law on storing a loaded firearm in your home? Does it have to be locked away or can it be sitting in the corner by your bed or on your bedside table?

It's your house.  You are responsible for managing your firearms responsibly.

I usually have quick access to a loaded firearm at home.

ETA: Of course, if you have children at home, or some other factor that would make easy access to guns more hazardous, manage the risks.  If you are careless, you will be held responsible.

Very pro gun,no mag restrictions even for hunting (migratory game bird laws apply of course). Only federal laws limit rifle barrel length.  More CCW permits issued per capita than just about any state. No CCW in a place that serves booze, but unless you are piss poor at cc you won't have an issue in dining places that serve. Don't chance it in a bar and never drink while carrying. Duh.  Most of my friends carry.

Does not have recipricosity with all state it borders, Georgia does not recognize your SC CCW permit.

Many public ranges. Tons of gun shops.  Tons of military in the mid state and lower.

Ft. Jackson, Parris Island, Shaw AFB, Joint Base Charleston, Ft Gordon.

Summers are hotter than a son of a bixxxxxx.

PSA is in Columbia but drive there to shop and you save shipping.  FN makes tons of guns in Columbia for us and the active duty kids.
