I am starting the process of selling My house in town and am looking to build on acreage most likley in the Monroe/Duvall area. The lot I am most intrested in is in the lake margret area and I have some questions I hope someone can answer. Is it legal to shoot on your land out there? I know that You can not shoot on DNR land in King county but I am hoping that private property will be different. The 2nd question is how mutch of a hassle is the CAO in the permit process/ The property that I am in the market for
will be 10 to 20 acres. I know some of you guys live in that general area and any info would be a huge help.

It will take a little work figuring out what sections, townships, etc. apply to your area. I haven't figured out if Lake Margaret falls within one of them but I'd be surprised if it didn't.

Here is the complete King Co. no shoot list. Sorry, it's an even longer list than Shohomish Co.

I am building East of Duvall. I grew up out there and live there now.

You are in for some serious heartache.

I live at Lake Margaret and my property is at Lake Margaret. I am currently renting a home two lots south of my property.

My lot has appreciated from $7800 in 1978 to well over 100K today.

PM me for details and tips, and prepare to install a residential sprinkler system in your home and expect to pay huge fees to our community water system.

ETA: My father and I have constructed a range with an access trail, and it is used by the community shooters up here. It is outside of the no shoot boundary, a boundary that my dad helped set up during his tenure with the County. That may change of course, but pray not.

?? Why?

Btw I live in Duvall city limits right now.

Because living in the City limit and living in the County are two different animals as far as permits, septic requirements, setbacks, wetland protection, CAO, etc etc etc....

In short, it's a pain in the ass hurry up and wait game. I still wouldn't live anywhere else!
