Even the Feinstein camp admits that the AWB is ineffective at reducing crime. They even point out some of the same examples used in the article, like the fact that no one is being killed by "drive-by-bayonet" attacks and such. The difference is, the commie-gun-grabbers are now using this as the very reason that an even GREATER ban must be implemented. This is the reason we must remain eternally vigilant and not lower our guard. Too many folks on these forums give the vibe that the "sunset" is coming and oh well, all I need to do is buy a tele-stock, etc. That scares the piss out of me. Especially since we have a turn-coat president who's willing to sell us out on this and the lefties have hordes of disinformation wizards convincing soccer moms that "this time, we'll finally ban machine guns." It's time to wake up the sleeping gun owners in the US.
And although here in CA, absolutely nothing will change come the end of the AWB, we can't be fair-weather activists and simply sit this one out because of that.

The Copley papers have consistently supported the federal AW ban and both Caliban versions in the past.

I wouldn't start counting chicken before the eggs are hatched. Everyone knows that current legislation isn't the important thing ... but it is a step to the complete ban on all firearms - more like in Australia and England.
