Anyone in the KC area interested in seeing "The Kingdom" on Sunday afternoon?
Make it a group deal? |
Hmm...I've been wanting to see this for awhile...I gotta go into work Sunday morning at 6 am though by the time I watch the Chief's game after I'm off, I'll probably be ready for bed at 4 PM
I saw it sun night but may see it again. I missed alot of parts due to the 5 "middle eastern men" talking in arabic and snickering during the american death scenes. It was un-nerving to say the least.....
Duke's "Russian school takeover" scenario flashed through my mind....... scottMO |

But since Alexander's Steak House closed, why would I want to go to Columbia? |
We could go to the Greek steakhouse, G&D's. The food is average but the eye candy is well above average.
I prefer Trumans... |
I could go Sunday. Time and place info? We getting food before or after?
Count me in provided I can chew through the restraints! |
We don't need no stinking sights! At least they've all got good trigger discipline... |
Well actually................. "Subgun doctrine" teaches "front sight, press, front sight, press". No rear sight needed at CQB distances. But since the M4 is not a subgun I will concede your point. Sorta like the scene in Jericho where the town is holding off the evil Blackwhatever mercs with scopeless (no iron sights either) bolt action bubba rifles. |
I'll be exercising my right to keep and bear fishing poles but if I get back in time I'll be there.
Actually one can snap shoot with NO SIGHTS out to a respectable distance. I have been known to shoot my Bolt Action rifle with no Irons or Scope and print a respectable group for a gun with no sights. But one would tend to think that a gun wrangler would not let that slip by. Well the Lee's Summit Theater is the place, do we wish to dine prior or feast upon overpriced junk at the theater? Time I am fairly open to. Lets get an idea of what works best for those who have to get a kitchen pass, and for Ken to chew through the restraints. |

You guys are giving ALOT of credit to Hollyweird concerning firearms accuracy, look who we are talking about.... |
Yeah, plus in the GD Thread about that pic, they were harping on Fox's backwards pack straps too.
Well they are not technically backwards. Any idiot can see the hardware and NOT put it on wrong, I have had this happen when I donned my ruck, of course mine got caught on my web gear, Armor, etc etc... But it does happen when you are in a hurry. I can't count that as a goof. I do think the Absence of a rear sight is a goof though. I am beginning to believe that the Gun Wranglers and the Advisors do this stuff on purpose!!! Oh and to clear up any misgivings, I am NOT putting any faith in the accuracy blah blah blah.... I am discussing a .... wait for it..... MOVIE!!!!! While I wish they would get every single detail accurate down to how he would trim his toe nails in reality I don't care... I want to enjoy the freaking movie!!! |
Hell you guys have a good time picking on gun issues in movies, try techie stuff. Hell I still want computers like in movies from 15 years ago. And where the hell is my flying car! Some guy in Raytown gets a carboat and I don't have a carplane I call BULLSHIT on this.

So you've seen the Amphicar running around town too, huh? I've got all of Sunday's schedule free. |
Okay, but if you bring her you actually have to drag her. Heels or hair, your choice. |
Spanking is still optional. |
Well I suppose she is an Arfcommer by Proxy... So do you guys who are attending want to meet at the Outback again? Dinner then Movie? What time? Other Options? I will see if I can find Showing Information. |
Sunday's Eastglen movie times for The Kingdom:
Showtimes: 11:50 AM - 2:20 - 4:50 - 7:30 - 10:00 |
How about the 4:50 showing, meet at Outback or ???? at 3:30? Dinner, Drinks, Visit for a while, etc? |
I dunno about the rest of you folks, but a good dinner followed by hours of sitting = bed time for Bonzo for me. This is not conducive to good flick enjoyment.
If we're gonna eat a real meal then I'd vote for eating after the show. |
My vote is to make it an early afternoon show, then an earlier (than the rest of the dinner crowd) meet at ?????? restaurant and then we'll still have hours and hours to BS, tell lies and consume mass quantities of beer.
But I'm flexible to the will of the group. |
OK then Meet in front of the Theater at 1400, once assembled (please be prompt so no man is left behind) Make entry at 1410 after having obtained Tickets. View Movie at 1420-1600ish then RV at the ******* at 1605 be seated by 1630, beer in hand by 1635?
OK then is the Outback OK with everyone?
Scott? Mike? Camaro? Where is Bret? Ken? Anyone else? |
Wish I could come. I figured I would wait for it to come out on vid but everybody that has seen it has raved. Bummer I don't live closer. John |
Meet in front of the Eastglen Theater at 1400 and follow Eric to the food and beer! Count me in. |
HEY! We drive all the way to fayatte to shoot, you can drive to kc to see a flick besides I'm sure the wifey wouldn't mind shopping while you're in the movie. Polytech |
