Does anyone know why the new Reliant Hall show in Houston is 50% or more smaller than the old Astrohall show? I e-mailed the HGCA and they had no reason as to why. The new hall is smaller than the Astrohall, but there is still room left for quite a few more tables. I could spend the better part of a day wandering around the Astrohall, but I am in and out of the Reliant Hall show in about an hour.

Hey 82ndAbn, try this link for Ft.Worth gun shows: http://www.highcalibergunshow.com/GSCode/Schedule.asp doesn't look like they will be back to Ft.Worth before March.

I would guess like most things it has to do with doe, ray,me the allmighty dollar.  A lot of those boys in the astro hall had to be operating on a close margin. So if you want a table in my new building your going to have to pay for it.  Some of them probably could'nt pay for it. When is the next big show anyway?

From a dealers prospective- The Astrohall show has gone downhill because-

1. The most expensive tables in Texas for an average show at best.
2.  The least friendly promoters in Texas- An honor you really have to work for.
3.  No ammo- promoter is to cheap to by insurance for it.

Save you money and vacation time and got to the Wanamacher Tulsa spring and fall shows if you want to see a truly awsome gun show.

I will be there this weekend but I am not going to renew for next show.  If the economy improves I will look in to it.

How good from the buyers point of view are the Big Town shows in Mesquite?  I am trying to schedule my vacation to hit either the Dallas Market Hall show or the Mesquite show.  Holler back.

Does anyone know which Houston area gun show has the best selection of AR's?
I went to the "Collector's show" at Reliant and saw a lot of bolt actions and cowboy action stuff, but not much in AR's. The high caliber show at GRB was not much better. I would like to find someone in Houston that carries RRA.

August 2&3 Hunter's Expo Gun & Knife Show Gainsville Civic Center,311 South Weaver Gainsville Texas. 9-6 Saturday and 10-5 Sunday. $5 admission. $1200 worth of door prizes including a Benelli shotgun and a H shooting team exhibition tournament. For more info call 888-585-4468 or 940-665-2831.

This is the first gun show I've seen advertised here in forever. Will probably be a small show but who knows. A short drive north on 35 for you Dallas area guys. If it's anything like the last show in Sherman it will be crowded and there should be lots of floor trades to be made. Looks like from the ad that some of the local pawn shops are involved in this so who knows what might be there. Look for lots of Okies coming across the river with goodies to trade too.
