Today I was given the skinny on buying ammo at Walmart.

Ammo arrives by truck, usually at night. They inventory everything and start stocking over night except for ammo. Most Walmarts will not sell ammo after 11pm so they hold the ammo until the next morning where they make it available at 7am..

He told me to be there tomorrow morning and he'll have 20 boxes of 9mm Blazer Brass at $8.99 a box!

Sorry, I can't divulge the location until this ammo is in my hands

Today-3/20/9
San Angelo Walmart on Sherwood Way.
What - absolutely nothing!!!!
BUT WAIT - Mgr said truck arrives tomorrow (Sat) and they expect 9mm, 40S&W, and 223.
My luck, I drove 85 miles to find squat!!! But hopefully this will work for someone near San Angelo.
Here is the funny part, nothing new here, when I walked up to the counter and hadn't uttered a word he said "it will be here tomorrow afternoon!!"
I said what will be here tomorrow afternoon, he said "the ammo". He said he had several calls today asking for ammo stock status.

Today @ Dicks in Garland (Firewheel) there was a bunch of WWB 5.56 (Q3131A1), Remington FMJ, a couple of boxes of Wolf Black box, and even a 150 rd bulk box of Ultramax.  The prices are still too high IMHO, 12.99 for the WWB, 8.99 for the Wolf, but at least it was on the shelf.  I think we have been our own worst enemy with the ammo shortage, and maybe the fact that is returning to the shelf is a good sign that the prices will come back to a reasonable level.
