The first Tactical Carbine/Rifle match was shot at Lauhorners in Springfield, Ohio today.  Great turnout, we had over 35 shooters!  We want to thank everyone that came out to shoot and to make the first one a great success!  Looks like we will have more to come.  Again, Thanks to all!  We will have the scores totaled soon so we can get them posted.

What types/kinds of shooting do these matches consist of?  I've never been to one, so I'm totally in the dark about them, but they sound like alot of fun.

It doesn't sound like a bench rest competition anyway.

It definitely was not "Bench Rest"!  It was shot indoors at Lauhorner's "A" Range, the larger one.  We had 17 targets to engage with 48 minimum rounds from 4 different points that required movement, and shooting while moving.  The last two targets was a tactical "head" shot that started a "Running Man" target that had to have at least one shot, however, you were allowed to fire as many "Bonus" rounds that you could with a 10 foot window of opportunity while it was moving.

Fastest time for the event was in the 50 second range.

Mostly AR type, we had a couple of AK's and a couple of pistol caliber carbines.  But the most common was the good Ol' AR's in 5.56, and most of those were M-4 variations.

It was kinda loud, even with foam plugs and a headset on.  But its 223 in a small room.  What do you expect.

I think it was over done a bit, to many targets in that tight of an area.

It's good to know we have a Lauhorner's employee here in the OH hometown forums on ARFcom.

How much $$ are we talking for that?

Will you have to be a member?    I dont live quite close enough to join but I think I could do it once a month for a couple of months.

I am very interested in getting in on the next carbine matches but the Laurhorner website doesn't seem to want my computer to be able to read it...

How much $$$ to enter?  Are you supposed to be able to enter online or register prior, or do you just show up the day it starts?

Thanks in advance.
