I just looked at the requirements.
Near as I can tell, anyone 18 or older and a legitimate resident of WI can run for governor.

The filing deadline is July 11th 2006.
I told my wife that I'm thinking about running as a democrat.
I'll make Doyle look like a moderate.
I'll get on the soap box and preach a bunch of extreme leftism.

My platform:

  • Guns are bad.

  • Gay marriage is good.

  • Super-ultra-mega-giga-welfare; free stuff to folks who didn't earn it. (Big votes here.)

  • Limitless spending on anything loosely related to education.

  • Free health care to everyone without any restriction whatsoever. (Just send the bill to us.)

  • ILLEGALS!!! - The more the merrier!

  • Any other leftist wet-dream I can think up between now and then.

Ambition being to split the idealogues off of the Doyle ticket.

How much money do I need to raise in order to innundate the Dem strongholds with billboards, mailings, and radio appearances?

No need to worry about money if you can convince the Indian tribes that their compacts will be open ended and renegotiated for smaller revenue collection; watch the cash flow into your campaign coffers...

Then when you get elected you can flip flop on all of it.
