Yep,

I got a check from them for the exact amount of the cost to replace my windshield after the incident where a steel cable (from one of their power poles falling over) broke it.

Biggest surprise is that it took less than a month and I did not have to submit any kind of police or fire/rescue reports as proof that I was even there. I talked to the guys replacing the poles later that day and one of them took digital pictures of the car, looked at the car, listened to my story and sent e-mail and the pictures in to the claims adjuster. The guys on scene were really great to deal with.

As a rule, utility companies are fairly good about replacing or reimbursing people for damaged property.

Yep it's easier to deal with the customer than have to answer to a PUC complaint.
