got kinda excited about this when i first saw it, its on my birthday and thought that would be a cool way to spend the b-day , until i saw this: Pistol magazines will be limited to only 10 rounds , just don't get it, ya i know its the rules and all that but seriously, what the point? I mean hwy do i bother to have 20 shot 5.7 if i have to limit it to 10 rounds? Deal breaker for me i guess.

Those are production class rules in USPSA/IPSC competitions.  Levels the playing field a bit.

In other words if you aren't shooting a single stack, they will limit ya. How many duty weapons out there are holding more than 10 rounds.

I'm certainly not LEO, but I would imagine a bunch.  What's a full size Glock .40 hold, 12 rounds?  13?

Hey BIRTHDAY BOY !!! It is your lucky Day...
PUT YOUR MONEY WHERE YOUR MOUTH IS...
Just for you....Come down to Jeff City with your 20 round 5.7...
YOU can shoot with 20 round mags... loaded with 20 rounds....
evryone else will only have 10 rounds in their mags ---even playing field... Production and Limited 10 Rules...

AND between me and you--- I'll bet you still don't finish in the TOP 10...

In fact--- Finish  1st thru 10th and I'll pay your entry fee...

p.s.  will a 5.7 even knock over a pepper popper?

Wow, a challenge has been laid down. Do i think i would finish in the top 10, nope, never said i would so i have no idea where that smart ass comment came from. Maybe i am misinterpreting it your post

My gripe was why limit it to 10 rounds? How many modern auto pistols only have a 10 round capacity? If i was to shoot in it i probably wouldn't even use the 5.7, i only used the 5.7 in my statement because of the mag capacity, if i was to shoot i would probably use my .45 XD (again, 13+1) anyway, cause NO , i don't think a 5.7 would knock a steel popper, course i haven't tried it yet either so i cant really say it would or wouldnt with any confidence.

I was actually talking to eric03cobra today about doing this match instead of the 5.7 fest due to the cheaper cost etc so maybe i will come down and shoot but dont exspect anything spectacular  if i do.

Never laid any claim to being a great shooter no matter what pistol i use , mediocre at best IMO.

uh, wtf ...
Billy, where are you coming from with your comments? Is this supposed to be a joke? If so, use more of the smilies so no one gets the wrong impression.

If you're trying to be a smart ass... why?

>>SAPPER<< Sorry to offend you...hould

But was trying to gode you into coming on down to Jeff City for the match... he
The match is being held with some equipment rules that puts everyone on somewhat of an even playing field. hereMost stages will require one or two reloads... some quick movements & gun handling-- your basic run and gun stuff...

What say you?

                           BillyGlock

p.s.  if that don't patch it up,, you'll just have to come on down to USC and pop me in the eye...

I can almost guarantee it will be one of the better local shooting matches you all have been to in recent times...

The match is being held with some equipment rules that puts everyone on somewhat of an even playing field.
There will be Cops&folks with S&W, Glocks, Berrettas, Sigs, 1911 etc..  carryguns, duty guns, but everyone will be limited to 10 round mags.

I wasnt offended, more like  fired up lol. I might still come down and participate just to have something to do on my b-day. Just cause i dont agree with the rules dont mean i cant play by them

I might come also just so you can see what a lousy shot i really am, mediocre was me being nice to myself lol. It does sound like a good time.

One ? tho, what exactly constitutes a level 1 retention holster? don't know if any of my holsters fit into that category or not.
Link Posted: 10/7/2006 9:12:08 AM EDT
[#12]
For this match,  a duty type holster, or CCW carry type holster that holds the pistol in the holster if you turn it upside down...  such as.. a tight fitting holster, or has a retension strap, serpa device etc...

What we are trying to stay away from is holsters made specifically for competition.

I may stop by that day.  My skillz aren't qute up to snuff for competition but I wouldn't mind watching to get a feel how everything is run for future events.

BTW, I guess my membership is approved now so maybe I'll run into you guys out there sometime.  (Ruff, Billy, Abn)
