TACTICAL CARBINE RIFLE
Upcoming Dates: August 19-20 Princeton MN SLR15 Rifles were recently featured as the SWAT Magazine March 2006 cover story. The Carbine Rifle is becoming more popular in the urban setting due to its great accuracy capabilities, and generally it is easier to shoot for most people due to its lack of recoil. This lack of recoil, combined with greater accuracy, make it a favorite among shooters. At the end of this course attendees will have confidence that they can shoot at something and hit it, and not be intimidated by recoil. Students will learn proper foundations, maintenance, employment, ammunition selection, mechanics and manipulation. This course is designed to hone basic fundamentals while teaching individual tactics and techniques. Movement shooting will be added and stressed. Students will deal with a multitude of different targets at varying distances, and learn to shoot from cover and concealment from twelve-plus different shooting positions. Multiple targets will challenge even the experienced operator. Proficiency will be stressed, as well as reloads, and malfunction clearing. Cost: $250 STUDENT MATERIALS: (Minimum Suggestion) 1. My Brother in Law is supposed to be coming home on leave from Iraq some time August, I hope I can make this one

If you are serious about carbine shooting, this is a can't miss class. If you own and shoot an AR15 and would consider using one for home defense or zombies, etc., there is no excuse for not taking this class. It's basically the difference between knowing how to crawl vs. being able to run a marathon.

ut oh
might have to sign up for this one, sounds like a lot of fun |
AKs are fine. |
You can use your aimpoint if you want. |
This is an amazing class. I've taken it twice, and wish I could take it again this year.
You don't need high speed gear, just a rifle, ammo, and an open mind. It's a great value for the money - if you are at all serious about shooting, take the class! You will learn an amazing amount of stuff and have a great time. |
+1 I took this class for the first time this year. You learn alot if you have an open mind!! Would love to take again and will. Probably just not this year
I took the last class offered in Mn---it was great. I am such a rookie that i am thinking about attending this one as well--the class is that good.
sueeeeeee Great class. Don't think twice about signing-up. |
Do you know the date of the next Tactical Carbine Course? I can't attend this one, but a friend and I will attend the next one you put on.
schedules are posted here www.defensive-edge.net/calendar.html |
Start time is 0800hrs (8:00am), promplty so plan on being there early and be ready as the sooner we get going the more trigger time we have. This is the last local Tactical Carbine Course we will do this year. We have some advanced courses that we will be doing during the week that are not shown on the schedule yet, but will soon. We have some Tactical Carbine Courses coming up in other states yet this Fall, with the possibility of SD if anyone wants to make a short road trip.

To all who are going....I'm going to bring a portable gas grill to make hot lunch...figure brats or maybe a burger. All are welcome to join in the fun - unless you want to be the true woodsmen and eat self-heating MRE's...
That sounds great! I can bring some burgers. |
Is there a cut off for registration?Have a m4 upper coming and if it gets here next week I would like to take this course.Or could I use my Hbar?
you could use your Hbar...bring a wheel-barrow to lug it around though. |
I think they make a unipod for that purpose. |
I'm in. Lord knows the Signal Corps needs more trained shooters...
Unfortunately I can't make it out to this event (or the fighting around vehicles course). I've been given a 1 week vacation, and I'm going to be gone from the 19th to the 27th...
At least when I'm on my vacation I'll get in a little bit of trigger time with my G17 and my AR-15 (it's a fishing/shooting/camping trip for a week). :-) It's just not the same as professional training though. :-( Wish I could Make it, but I've been dying for a vacation for quite some time and I'm in dire need of it, too! Gotta get back to the grind... -inuhbad |

Sully -
Saw that knee/elbow pads recommended....are we going to be doing more sugar cookies? After all the crap I pulled out of my Sig from the multiple targets alumni, i'm not sure my pretty new commander should be broken in so mercilessly. Doc SIG |
Let me know soon so I can start grinding the rust off my Wolf ammo. |
I ordered a sling, some mag pouches, and a bunch of other stuff from aim on sunday, they sent an email saying its shipping out today. I will be without any tactical gear for the class.
What specifically did you need? We will get you taken care of. CY6 Greg Sullivan "Sully" Chief Instructor SLR15 Rifles TheDefensiveEdge.com |

Sully....is there room for Alumni - biga_mn to get in?.....hmmmm......mr. procrastinator_mn it should be. Email him if you can!
Whoop tee doo.....a fun weekend with the smell of gun powder in the air! |
Maybe someone can blast a rock or two so I won't get any more crap.
Oh hell....I am already getting crap for some of my "shoot me 1st" black gear! I'll aim for a rock or two for you
Eli, I've got some extra slings. Let me know what kind you need. I'll be leaving for the Streichers open house sometime Friday morning. I'll need to know B4 I leave as I'm going to Princeton after that. Dan
Thanks, but I picked up a sling tonight. I should be ok. |
