So whos going to the fairgrounds to look at overpriced mechandise this weekend?
About a month ago I got lucky and stumbled upon the ammo guy stocking the shelves at wally world and picked up the only two 1000 round boxes of winchester M-22 .22lr's that they had just gotten in, 50 bucks each. Wonder what someone would pay for them at the show?
I'll more than likely go. It's like a car accident that happens down the road from your house; you just have to go take a look and see it for yourself.
I'll be there, there are still some good finds there if you look and barter enough.
I might be.
Haven't showered in the last 2.5 weeks in preparation for it.

Will be there all weekend with bells on (no, not literally...if someone is janglin' it ain't me)...
Can't wait, always find lots of cool stuff I can't live without there...looking forward to finding some good lids, will have a few out on the tables myself...maybe even an Israeli Para lid... Sorry, but Syracuse gives me wood...I'm like a kid in a candy sore, tons of web gear and oddball odds and end, which I love...and being with a vendor makes sure I get some time to run around Friday, and early Saturday... FP1201 you going to be there? Never got a chance to look you up at Rochester... |
Yep, will be there as usual. I always find something, some shows are better than others but there is always a gen here and there if you look.
I'm tempted to make the drive from Rochester, but I'm really only looking for one thing right now and don't want to waste the trip without knowing for sure if I can get it.

Looking for a stripped receiver for a garand, preferably SA or WRA, but I'll take any WWII original to replace the Century I've got now.

View Quote Well, you did say any WWII original...I was just pointing out only SA and WRA made them in WWII... Don't usually see many receivers on the loose at the shows.... |

Planning on fishing in the morning on sat, at some point i'll make it down there
Not me, I'm not gonna have some Onondaga County deputy tell me I can't carry in the venue. Had that argument once, not again.

Brenda found a charger. There's a guy selling them in the alcove. The table with the paper targets. Nice guy. He let Brenda pick out a color that matched her case.

I had a good time at this show.
I will say it was better than Rochester but had less ARs and Saigas. I also enjoyed running into the parking nazis for the first time ever. Apparently, they had reserved parking for some other event and wouldn't let me park where there were dozens of empty spots just next to the gun show. As I was turning around, the parking nazi said quite loud enough for me to hear "I hate all of these gun nuts". I am trying so hard to convince myself I need one of these compliant guns. There was a stainless Mini 14 for $750 that I was so close to buying but the man selling it was such a grouch, I walked away. He was insistent that the mini was the last "fully capable" gun that is legal in NY. I mentioned the Saiga, M1 Garand and the Wacky stock ARs. He got all mad and told me they were all illegal and I didn't know anything. I saw a lot of Saiga 7.62x39 for $550 to $600 Why am I trying so hard to rationalize a purchase of one of these? I had a guy willing to sell me one for $530 but I just don't really want one. I remember when these rifles were $250 and I didn't want one then for that price. Overall, the mood of the shows are improving and the attendance is starting to climb again. This place was more crowded than the last show I remember there but still nothing like I remember them just 2 years ago. |

Hey, I am having a great time....I am finding a metric shit ton of good stuff for me...
I picked up an unissued pair of 1945 dated Australian Jungle boots, which are like British "ammo" boots insted they have cleats nailed to the bottom as opposed to hobnails...frickin awesome... All sorts of odds and ends web gear wise...a grease gun / thompson mag pouch...a nearly complete 1945 Jungle First Aid kit....a M1941 Mounted canteen, complete....some great boxed German ammo for my collection, the more esoteric stuff...100/600 white tracer for night fighters, high velocity Luft ammo, API smoke trail luft ammo....lots of other misc small stuff... And the piece de resistance so far,,,another all matching 98k, a 1943 JP Sauer, with original sling.... I am a happy dude. Great show for us so far too, probably 23 or 24 guns today...lots of small stuff too...kind of like Rochester, like the "old days".... |

FP went to Knob Creek , he took like a week off. View Quote Yes, yes he did and Syracuse can suck it! I saw the Thurston brothers and their pal there too: they were of the same opinion too! As soon as I can post it, I've made "SAFE" arrangement in answer to the un-Safe act. "we've. cut our grips, but not our finger" so FUAC. |

I know a dealer whose been listing PB receivers on gunbroker: last one I stopped bidding at $500. He's got a few more & sooner or later will get one. |
