I just got off the phone with the receptionist for Sinicki because I heard she wants to introduce legislation on a new ban on assualt weapons.  Her receptionist told me that Sinicki's law would have mandatory registration of assault weapons with your local law enforcement for existing ones and a ban on new ones in the state of WI.  It sounds like she is trying to mirror the existing law that California has.  I told the receptionist to inform Christine that I don't want her to introduce legislation, that I'm against any infringement on my Second Ammendment rights and that registration is the next step towards confiscation.  Her receptionist was polite but I could tell that she didn't share my views.  I can't begin to express how pissed I'am right now!!!!!  I just got off the phone with the NRA and informed them of her impending legislation and they told me that they would look into the matter.  Hopefully I can believe that and the person whom I spoke with actually sounded concerned.  We all need to call her, mail her and email her and let her know the facts and tell her that we don't want any more legislation.  She needs to be silenced and this needs to be nipped in the bud NOW!  She is a state rep in the 20th district which is a decent chunk of southeast WI.  Her phone number is 1-888-534-0020 and thats toll free.  Her mailing address is: Christine Sinicki,  P.O. Box 8953, 321 North State Capitol, Madison WI. 53708.

DONE!

I called on the regular line. (608) 266-8588

I was polite.
Secretary was polite.

***********
"It has come to my attention that Mrs. Sinicki has sponsored, or intends to sponsor legislation that would ban so-called assault weapons in Wisconsin; I'd like to log my opinion."

(Name and address taken down)

"I feel that any such legislation is an infringement upon the second amendment.
Further, there are no grounds to believe that such a law will curtail criminal activity."

************

Do it folks.
If you can't spare two minutes to make a free phone call, then something's really wrong.

Thanks for calling Throttle!  Your right, if you can't spend two minutes to express disagreement with a challenge to your rights, you got a problem.

I called and left a message as well. I mirrored what Throttle said, and added that I am a member of a UW-Madison organization committed to the dissemination of facts and correct information concerning firearms. I hope they get back to me.

Actually, her district does not include OakCreek.  It goes North from Cudahy.  Her E-mail is [email protected]

ETA: Doh! too late! on PM's edit.

Double ETA: her district appears to be Cudahy, St. Francis, and part of Milwaukee.

I got this from her website at: Traitor

I emailed, I'll call tomorrow and write a letter. I'll email my own reps too.

Its been posted on packing.org and will go out on our SAFER mailing list.

This is infuriating that someone would even THINK about introducing after the federal ban expired and clearly didn't do jack besieds help the gun banners make stuff more expensive for us.

I wonder when the last time an 'assault weapon' was used in a crime in WI....

I spoke with Jim Flandry (spelled correctly I hope) with the Wisconsin Pro Gun Movement and he was well aware of what she intends to do.  It's actually worse than what I thought.  She also wants to ban semi auto shotguns and anything that will take a mag that will hold more than ten rounds.  She is a lunatic!

Year or two ago, in a bank robbery in racine. Two guys one with a unregistered sawn off shotty, one with an AR15. Guys got cought in the sticks when a cop that was following them for suspicious activity, got a good reason to pull them over. They threw a cig but out the window, littering...... Dumb fuck!

Tazaroo pretty close on the rifle, but yah that was me.

That's actually a good thing.

The more people it will affect, the more certain its demise.
"Sorry Jim, that assault shotgun you use for skeet is evil now .. go turn it in."
"An' tell your 12 yr old son that the sherrif is coming by to pick up the Marlin Model 60 you gave him for Christmas."

That wont fly at all.
11% of the WI population hunt something each year.

She needs a brain transplant most of all.

I'll have to research her platform a bit more and try to talk to some of my coworkers that live in her district (I don't).

I work with a couple of people from Cudahy.

Cute joke -
Q:You know what people used to call Cudahy before it was called Cudahy?

A: Cuda.

Anyway, a bud at work says the the Cudahy City Common Council has inveited her to attend "dozens" of city meetings - just stop by and say "Hi" or give us some advice on this huge-ass ice skating facility we're building - and so on and so forth.  And how many times has she visted?  0.

Hey Tattoo, just for your information, her address and home number were published in her flyer that she mailed out to every registered voter in the 20th District.  I hope you don't think that people who take the time out to be politically informed would be that small minded to harrass this person.   I think she published it for a reason so here it is again:  Christine Sinicki  3132 South Indiana ,  Milwaukee, WI. 53207   414-481-7667.  This address is so people can mail her information directly because when it's mailed to Madison, it takes forever to get to her.  This would also be the perfect address to mail her letters on how we feel because sho won't be able to run away from it.
