I've got a new barrel on order for a 10/22. It is stainless and will come without any paint or coating. I had the option to order it ion-bonded for an extra $100, but figured it would be much cheaper to just have it sprayed with moly resin or other gun coating. Does anyone here have any experience spraying any of these coatings or offer such a service. I don't mind doing it myself, but since I've never done it and don't have a spray gun, I figured it might be cheaper overall to have someone else do it.

Any recommendations or comments about this?

I've sprayed a bit of Moly-resin through a Harbor Freight spray gun, one of their "touch up" models. If you have a small air compressor and an oven you can heat the barrel in, you're good to go. Just be sure to have some MEK on hand for clean up.

I have shot several rifles and assorted parts with Norrells. Drop me a IM or email and we will get it coated for you. It will have to be blasted first to get a good bite on the stainless. It's doable at home if you have the time and patience.
