My understanding is that its an excellent facility. 600 yards, and they are CMP affiliated. Several people from my club are in the process of joining. As noted, they are no longer located in Solon. The Freeway US 422 is now through their old property. They do however hold their meetings in Solon, I think they can be found online or contact information through the NRA or CMP.

Thanks for the info..they are located in Dorset,Ohio just outside of Andover. The place I just bought is About 1 1/2 miles away. I'll have to stop in. Thanks again. -Chuck |

Welcome to Ohio. The place where all can have CCW and we never heard of a pistol permit or state AWB.

Actually, it is no longer in Solon. It was about 20 years ago but is now in Ashtabula County. They moved since US422 now goes right through what was their range.

It is on Richmond-Foothill Road in Dorset, Ohio off of Rt. 193 in Dorset, Ohio Their is a initiation Fee as well as dues. Check their website to find out. www.solonsportsmen.org |

I'm a part owner + member. Check out the website, and feel free to use me as a contact to the club board - best friend of mine is the treasurer and handles memberships.
The range is awesome! As long as you're safe, you can pretty much shoot what you please on a variety of ranges - 25 yd, 50 yd, 100 yd, 200 yd, 600 yd... archery range... We have club picnics every year, big Christmas party w/ gun giveaways, group hunts where we release 50 pheasants for three Saturdays in a row, etc. You can hunt, fish in the pond, camp, train your dogs, shoot clays, whatever. I like it a lot

If you could please post a link to the club website it would be helpful. I might also be interested in the future as I am unsure of the future of my current club over the next 10 years. Just as your original digs in Solon, Land in our part of the county is starting to become valuable and we lease it but don't own it. I had many friends while I was growing up who belonged to your club and took us as kids to the old facility in Solon. If you like feel free to post any pertinent info in the tacked " Places to shoot " thread. |

sounds like the gun club i belong to shotar here in erie county,There is a big hotel/water park going up cadi-corner from the club .

SSA is a great place to shoot - I bring youngsters (and girls) to the place and teach them all the time. This Saturday I'm doing a pistol training for some officers from Cleveland PD.
