I have been passing this place for years...always wonder what was up with it.
Place has looked closed up for a long time, but it looked like someone was living in the office for a few years - I always saw a car under a cover there and people hanging out inside.

Now I see its all boarded up and no cars are parked there any longer.

It seems like a decent piece of real estate - I cant see why someone would keep it in such disrepair...why not just sell it?

Anyone know any thing about this place?

I remember when the motel was actually open...

It used to have a second story back in the very early 90's.  For a long time it had Police Crime scene tape around that section.

They tore that down in maybe 95' or so. From what I can see it has finally closed for good.

When I was 17 or so, we rented a room at that place and had a few people over for a party that was supposed to last till the next day.

We were so sceeved out within 45 minutes that we bailed out and wound up drinking in the woods in 10-15 degree weather.

I live maybe 2 minutes away from that place. Its still all boarded up. They have been trying to get a road built from turnpike exit 8a straight through to route 1, which would end up at ridge road/route 1, right at the solar motel. Maybe they are waiting to see if the road gets built, then sell the property for bigger bucks. Luckily the road project is being fought, and they just took away most of the funding for it to put towards improving the turnpike instead. The solar looks like one of those places where you would go to film a porno..or kill someone...or maybe both!
