Hey Mack, I almost bought a Colt lightweight sporter too, but the guy wanted $1300 and didn't want to deal.
I have seen that same AR15 at Monroe for the past three gunshows.

SP"1" is what threw me off.
My last SP1 was a real 1967 SP1.

This weekends Spo show was a suck-fest as usual. Wasn't much for mil-surps, Some o3A3's for 2x what they are worth , no Garands. The creepy Omega guys were there with some overpriced clunker surps.

Mine came with 5 usgi colt mags (20rds) and one adventureline 30 rnd.  I'm now looking for an authentic sling and bayo for it.

$1000 is a pretty good deal for it. That guy was real proud of that $ 3k SP1 .It looks like you have the correct sling . I have a pile of them ( late type web & nylon with alloy metal hardware ) and you could get one from me at the next shoot. Personally I don't like to use them on AR's and prefer the black GI silent slings.

Mack, you got to shot my M16 Clone at the shoot didn't you ???

Does it have a block on the inside, Just  infront of the rear pin that says "Colt" and a half moon bolt carrier?

nope, tangent I didn't get to shoot it.  But I am GOING to get out sometime in the nest few days and shoot mine!  My colt does have the sear block and the halfmoon carrier, and it makes me kinda bumbed, but on the upside If I ever have the desire and live in a state that allows it, I could buy a registered auto sear and do a conversion as the block looks relitivily easy to remove.( If I ever win the lottery)

Funny... I didn't even know about the gun show until I was in at Sportsmans warehouse looking at some stuff. Me and my buddy decided not to go because it was alrwady in the afternoon and all the good stuff (if there was any) was probably already gone. So we went over to All American on Sprague and I picked up a DPMS AP4 for $700... not bad!

So yeah, kinda glad I didn't go :)

The SPORTER Lightweight was released from the Colt factory with a 16"inch A2 Goverment Carbine Upper, Model # 6530.  basically a poors mans Goverment carbine with A2 receiver, no lug, and standard stock.  Your gun has the A1 convertion upper.  did the seller have the original upper??....

The Spokane gun shows have been seriously getting worse and worse.
It seems like it's always the same stuff from the previous 3-4 shows. And, usually higher priced.
Since they re-did the building there have been less and less vendors there. Kermit is no longer there, Jon has not been their either.

Seems like the only deals to be had, is whats comming through the doors on someones shoulder.

FWIW

They have become worse. The ATF at the Nov show scared off alot of the regular Idaho  " Dealers " which prob hasn't helped vendor attendance ( Kermit ). Fewer ammo dealers have been showing up with the Miwall and the grumpy fat ammo guy being the only ones the last couple of shows so no spectacular ammo deals.
