Giving a new female shooter a 3" slug as a first shot is a sure way to make them a none shooter for life. Because all the remember is how much it hurt and now they are affraid every gun is like that. So RotorDemon I hope you're joking.

Got my
Started one afternoon with a little 22lr Diamondback then to the 38 and by the end of the day she was running one mag after another through the Uzi. Now she shoots Speed Steel with the old man and me, has her own 22 Ruger and a 9mm Glock. |

So last summer my wife -- out of the blue -- gave me a 9mm pistol. To make a long story short, I've bought 4 guns in the last month :) |

My short story.
So I had an interest as well, but zero experience. I was a suburbia kid. So I move out to Oregon and meet Noxspecter (worked together). Aside from introducing me to my first strip club, various alcohols, and the world of surround sound (let's just call it the introduction to "vice"), he took me shooting. I thought it was fun, although intimidating at first. He laughs and says, "now you're going to go out and buy something, aren't you." My now famous reply, "Oh no. I won't buy a gun, I'll just shoot yours." Fast forward 2.5 years and I now own 8 rifles, 4 pistols, 2 shotguns, 15,000+ rounds of ammo, two suppressors for a total of 4 NFA items. Needless to say, this year is the year of me cutting back on the spending. Less buying, more shooting. |

Heres a cruddy pic =/ Cant seem to find the ones OF them shooting, just walking back to me.
Yes, its one of the now closed pits you pass as you head up to the gravel pit. (memalose road) oh yeah, she never shot/held a gun before she met me :) Andrea (the baby) was also shooting a .22 pistol, she loved it but wanted her muffs off so only got to shoot 1 clip. Do all the pits look like that?  Maybe plan a cleanup sometime in march, april, may after the snow melts? (also a chance to clean up the brass from the last shoot) Gotta do something, or the losers are really gonna screw us. Oh, and nice pic KeptKirk. |

I have, but I don't remember it being that bad. Brass is worth cash. Fresh stuff for reloading, old crap for recycling. I gather it goes for about $.25 per pound. |
