Yep, I was a seasonal and knew it was coming, they were going to keep me until the end of january but let me go early. So I've spent the last week in East texas hog hunting.

I got this big boy from about 50 yards with a slug to the neck while he was running away from the hog mix.

after we skinned and gutted him we put him in the cooler(thats a bucket o' hog guts)

and this is the drive to the processing place

out of all the stuff i've heard about hogs, I've never heard about there damn bullet proof vest they have. They have about a 1in thick piece of cartlidge that covers the soft areas. It was a bitch skinning him until we figured out how to do it.

Nice hog!  That cartilage breast plate is pretty cool.  I was taught by TRG to just split it like a banana right down the spine.  Easy enough and it stays out of your way.

That's what we ended up doing. Only we had to figure it out on our own.

That shield is a BITCH!  I did taxidermy for 9 yrs and did lots of those creatures.  Good kill!  Go kill about a few thousand more and help reduce the population for a day or two!

yep, it's a mossberg 500a.  We left the legs on because we figured it would be easier for the guy who was processing it it. And it just looked really funny driving down the road

we just buried the skull for the bugs, My friends dad always did that with deer skulls, but we also lived in the city too. last time we shot an armadillo to keep the shell on it, we left it there for something else to clean it out and the whole thing disappeared.

and that thing had some really sharp teeth.
