And they finally updated it for SBR's, SBS's a supressors to reflect the actual law...

Surprised noone mentioned it yet.

Hmm, I never noticed the change in the regulations till you mentioned it.  I didn't see any mention at all about suppresors in the new regulations, I know you can use them but I believe it used to say you couldn't.

So they said what was legal is still legal then.  

Never said you couldn't use SBR/SBS, Can's.  ONly thing it said you couldn't use was MG.

This.  I actually have a letter from the DNR saying that the hunting regulation booklet is wrong just in case I get stopped by a game warden.

Same here.

They failed to mention the grey area in the past. Technically, a barrel of less than 16" IS illegal.......unless registered under NFA.

It is just me but I would say you can ignore that letter.  They clearly spell out Short barrel shotgun and short barrel rifle in this release of the regs on page 20.
