The 2006 High Power Rifle Matches at York Riflemen (Hellam Township, PA) will be April 23, May 28, June 25, July 23, August 27, and September 24

NRA APPROVED TOURNAMENTS


DATES: April 23,   May 28,   June 25,   July 23,   August 27 - YR Memorial Trophy Match (see "MATCH FEE"),  September 24.
All matches will be held on the fourth Sunday of the month.
All matches will be 80 shot Regional Match Course NRA Approved matches.

PLACE: York Riflemen, Hellam Township, York County, PA

DIRECTIONS: From South of York: Take I-83 N to Rt. 30 East to Mt. Zion Rd. (north)
From Reading, PA area: Take Rt. 222 South to Rt. 30 West to Mt. Zion Rd. (north)
From Philadelphia area: Take PA Turnpike (I-76 W) to I-83 S (exit 18) to Rt. 30 East to Mt. Zion Rd. (north)
Then: Take Mt. Zion Road (north) past Galleria Mall; Turn right onto Druck Valley Road; Turn left onto Range Road; entrance to York Riflemen is located at the top of the hill on the right.
       
TIME: Registration from 7:00 am to 8:00 am on the day of the match; relay assignments are on a first-come/ first-serve basis (no advance sign-up) and limited to the first 48 shooters or four relays; first relay starts at 8:30; squadding for pit and scoring services will be done at registration.

MATCH FEE: All matches $15.00 / $10.00 juniors  ($4.50 of which is payable to NRA); please - no checks.
Fee for August 25 - (80 shot NMC) YR Memorial Trophy Match - $20.00 / $15.00 juniors (rain date is September match).

COMPETITION: Open to all shooters; beginners are welcome - instruction is available.

CLASSIFICATION: NRA classification will be used; for award presentations, a class will be made up of no less than 5 shooters.

RULES: Current NRA Highpower Rifle rules will apply. Challenges $1.00

COURSE OF FIRE: 80 shot Regional Match Course (reduced) - 2 sighter shots in 2 minutes prior to each stage and:

Stage #1:  20 rounds Slow Fire Standing; 200 yards; 20 minutes; SR
Stage #2:  2 strings - 10 rounds Rapid Fire Sitting; 200 yards; 60 sec/string; SR
Stage #3:  2 strings - 10 rounds Rapid Fire Prone; 200 yards; 70 sec/string; SR-42
Stage #4:  20 rounds Slow Fire Prone; 200 yards; 20 minutes; MR-52

GENERAL  INFO:
1. All shooters should possess a spotting scope or binoculars to be used for scoring purposes.
2. M1 Garand club rifles will be available for use by all shooters; ammo will be provided free for York Riflemen club members only; all ammo distributed MUST be fired at the match.
3. AR-15 club rifles are available; .223 ammo is available @ $10.00 for club AR15s.
4. POSITIVELY NO HANDLOADS WILL BE USED IN ANY CLUB RIFLES; only factory loaded, non-corrosive ammo will be allowed in club rifles (chief range officer reserves the right to inspect and approve/disapprove all ammo used for the match).
5. No tracer or incendiary ammunition permitted.
6. Limited refreshments and restroom facilities are available.
7. Courses of fire may be altered at Match director’s discretion.

No holsters required, only a modern centerfire handgun 9mm or larger and 5 magazines/6 speedloaders. Start position will be gun in hand.

Reloading from belt or pants pockets.


Junior Shooters Ages 10-15 may shoot for free when accompanied by and supervised by a paying adult shooter. Juniors may use .22 rimfire pistols.

Classes

Revolvers - Stock - Any stock revolver with stock barrels, open sights.

No compensators, venting ports or optics of any kind.

Open - Any revolver, no restrictions.

Autos - Stock - Any auto in stock configuration, open sights.

No compensators, venting ports or optics of any kind.

Open - Any auto, no restrictions.

* All autos, whether stock or open, will load a maximum of 8 rounds per magazine.*

Rules

No holster required. All stages will start with gun in hand, muzzle on post/table. Gun must be kept in range bag or holster and you will need to secure weapon in such at end of stage.
Each stage will be in multiples of 6 - 12, 18, 24 or 30. Match will be very revolver friendly.
Shooter will need minimum of 5 magazines and/or 6 speedloaders to complete some of the stages. You may carry as many as needed but under no circumstance will you be allowed to have someone loading and handing you ammo during the run.
Dropping a gun at anytime, loaded or empty, will result in a match DQ, no exceptions to this rule!
Stage design & description may dictate engagement sequence, firing position or firing style (standing, kneeling or prone). A stop plate may be used to end target engagement. Foot fault lines and shooting boxes will be used to control shooter movement.
Competitors may fire as many rounds as deemed necessary to complete each stage. Shooter may re-engage targets as needed to score hits.
Any live ammo falling to ground during run is "dead" and may not be retrieved and used for that stage.
Reload as needed - no restrictions as to when and where.
Targets will be any size/shape paper, static steel, knockdown steel and/or bowling pins. All paper targets will get 2 shots and require 2 full bullet hits on paper to score as hits. Any bullet breaking the edge of a paper target or touching black hardcover will be a miss. Static steel targets require 1 bullet hit on the face of the target. Any hits to sides will score as a miss. Knockdown steel must fall! Bowling pins must be knocked over.
Match will use a 180' muzzle safe point. Breaking the 180 will result in a match DQ.
Minimum power factor will be whatever it takes for your pistol to knock down steel. 130pf is recommended. Maximum velocity of 1200fps is in effect to prevent damage to steel targets.
All reloads must come from belt or pants pockets unless course description states otherwise (box, table, etc…)
Squib loads. Safety is paramount - STOP and clear weapon. Remove firearm to a safe gun handling area to check for any barrel obstructions. Competitor may reshoot stage when weapon is safe. A jam/failure to feed is not considered a squib. Clear it and deal with it.
All auto pistols will be limited to a maximum of 8 rounds in any magazine. 1911 guns with 7 round mags will be allowed to top off to 8 rounds to start. 8 rounds max in gun to start.
Have fun and enjoy the match! Help as needed painting and taping to keep match running smooth.

Scoring

Time + penalties = total score. Penalties will be 1) misses = 5 seconds each 2) Knockdown steel still standing = 5 seconds 3) firing a shot out of bounds (foot fault or shooting box) = 5 seconds per shot fired.

Registration will open at 9:30 and shooting starts at 10:30. The cost will be $10, no prizes, no payouts. Standard ICORE rules will apply.

The International Confederation of Revolver Enthusiasts. The matches are shot on a combination of cardboard and steel targets. Draw, shoot and move, reloads, etc.. Scoring is time plus penalties for misses or less than center hits on the cardboard. Great fun. You'll need a revolver, a holster and at least 4 speedloaders. This match will have 5 stages, 4 standard set ups like at the second link below and a larger "field course". If you shoot the match clean, figure 120 rounds.

The PSA Shootout April 20 - 23

Over 150 falling steel targets. One of the biggest handgun events on the East coast, probably the biggest in PA. Figure 450 shooters. This is the one I look forward to every year!
