Ok gang, the recon was run on Memaloose and right now it's a solid 2nd choice. Brown's is our first choice becuase of the location and the fact that most of us and the vendors are familiar with it. The shooting area at Memaloose was a quite a bit muddy from what I've been told (Oregon, imagine that huh?) and there was not a firing line present. We can make a line, but doubt that the vendors with the "fun guns" would set up in mud.
So, the money offer will be up again for someone to go and check Brown's on Friday/Saturday. I'll chip in $10 and it will not be 200 empty O'douls beer cans either  If Brown's does not empty the rock piles then we'll go to option "B". I think we'd get our rears handed to us if we went up and contaminated a couple hundred yards of the state's rock.Now with the attendance list! I'm in, no matter where it is at

I'll check out Brown's. Hell, aside from Pat. I'm the nearest guy.
As an aside, I did check out the area around Molalla. Nice drive. But after 180 miles and 4 hours of searching, I did not find a suitable place that wasn't marked "Private Property", "No Shooting", or "Road Closed". |

I know I am gettin in here late but I have an option that is also above Estacada. I can go take new pics tomarrow. It is a good size pit, that last time I was there it is all rock, and gravel.

My nuts will have a reprieve on Saturday, the 21st...so they will be able to attent the event, rather than take up space in the jar on the mantle......WOOT!!.....
I don't care which location, as long as we do this........Thanks to you guys who scouted today!!.............even if you were wearing a ghey hat.......

Ok, so I edited out the inches of mud comment, I mis-understood the conditions when they were described to me
I should also add, I'd be willing to rent out a seat or two for passengers on the way up.....(hint hint Yanker...ORarfan)

I thought that he used a Lever action in that movie? I just remember the last scene in that movie. "i will eat your soul!!!". good movie. The first one was good too, both versions. Evil Dead is rad. Oh yeah I might be there too. Might even have the wife's AR done by then. That is gonna be a sick gun. By the way, there are like 3-5 quarries in the summit area of hwy 26. I am gonna go try to find them here in the next week or so. There are 2 on Idiot Creek rd on the other side of the summit, but I have yet to get in there to check em out. Maybe I will get up early before i have to go to work, and go check them out. Will try to get pics. |
