Went to the range today to shoot three new pistols and one Draganov. Lessons learned:

Some days you can shoot a $150 trunk gun better than a target 22

XD's are funner than anything

Draganov's can be bump fired easily. (If I can anyone can) GMW take note.

The scope on a Drag takes lots of getting used to and requires translation.

The Drags trigger is very consistent and it shoot allot like a AK EXCEPT very accurate. I hit the 8" gong at 210 yards 3 out of 5 with open sights.

Old people can be bigger assholes than the young. Grampa let his granddaughter (about 15) shoot his rifle. (338 WM) she did not want to shoot it again. (BIG recoil) and he bitched at her about it. She told him why and he bitched at her some more. I wish I had brought an AR to let her shoot, I think she would have liked it allot better than a bolt action 338 Winchester Mag. She was very interested in the Drag but would not shoot it. Already afraid of recoil I'm sorry to report.

Sorry to hear that, you must feel terrible.

However I have put 3 baffle muzzle brakes on lightweight 338's and made very light-recoil rifles out of them, and a sand bag on the firering shoulder can do wonders for felt recoil reduction.

Strat I wish I had done allot of things different today with educating that girl, bringing the AR was my first thought. I just hope the old fuck (and I am an old fuck but not a stupid old fuck) did not ruin the girl on firearms for yelling at her for not wanting to shoot with the heavy recoil. The young are the future in my humble opinion.

I hear you, Ive been in trouble for hooking kids on shooting, I make sure they have good hearing and eye protection, use 22lr with optics or dot sights and have them shoot at reactive targets like balloons, dot sights are great because they hit first time ever shooting and grinning ear to ear but my nieces and nephews liked shooting so much they joined the gaurd and got on the shooting, niece took silver in small bore pistol but the parents still want me shot for getting their kids hooked on shooting.

Big problem with parents, they think they know best and their kids should never make up there own mind. I have allot of faith in the young myself.
