I am brand new to this forum and until I move to Oregon sometime in the future I am gunless here in PRK.
I used to own a Polytech AK-47 before the first ca ban but sold it like an idiot.

My ques. is this..
I saw a CA legal AR-15 from AtalnticArms, complete and ready to ship, any thoughts on this company and quality of the rifle?

Really dumb question here..how do load the rifle if the magazine is permantly attached?

If I bought said rifle, do I need to keep any type of DOJ paperwork on me while I'm at range or shooting outdoors?

Could someone post a pic of one these CA legal AR'S?

welcome to the site dude. to answer your questions:
the atlantic firearms CAlegal is IMO a decent firearm. i think it is built off of the
Fab 10 recevier, IIRC. however, if the price is above $900 i wouldnt pay for it.
Mine cost me around $970 to build, but I built mine before the Vulcan came out
which is cheaper (and maybe even better). it all depends on the price.

To load the firearm you have to break it open, as if you were to clean it, and load
it while in the open position using a stripper clip. Each one comes with a special
guide.

If you bought said rifle, you should keep paperwork around. I do, because here
in CA its inevitable that someone who doesnt know the law will ask you about its
legality.

I can’t answer all your questions but, what they are selling is usually a Fab10 or Vulcan arms rifle.  There is one company that closes the bottom of the mag-well of Bushmaster rifles to make them legal, but they are very pricey.  To load all three of these you must pull out the rear take down pin and load the magazine from the top either one at a time or with a stripper clip of 10rnds.  All three rifles come with a DOJ letter of approval which helps to have if you are bothered by any law enforcement or anti-gunners.  The Vulcan’s tend to be more popular, and hard to find as they have a pinned 10rnd mag that looks like a 20rnd mag.  However, they also are known for being out of spec, but very affordable. The Fab10 really isn’t bad and the only draw back is the fuglyness of the receiver its self, and the price of around $300.  The Bushmaster I’m sure you get what you pay for.  With all three you can add as many evil features as you want less the NFA items.  The other option is to build your own from an 80% receiver which is another topic and not a good idea for your first AR15 type rifle. The final option is the DPMS single shot receiver.  I would rank them in over all quality as #1 is the Bushmaster, #2 the Fab10, #3 the Vulcan, #4 your own home built (just because I don't know how good of a machinist you are).  Hope this helps and good luck.

Heres the vulcan I just built for squirrels. If you get a vulcan buy the stripped lower and use your own parts.

Is it really?  Because I'm pretty sure that anyone who has doubts about the Fab 10 being legal would also ask if the Fab 10 was a group of gay guys who might come to his house later and help him dress like a homosexual.
