What you you suggest for a guy who is thinking about going to cop school.

What is the best way to go about this?

Is there more than one option?

How flexible is this to do while holding down a full time job?  Possible at all?

Can I borrow your stuff?

OTC in statesboro lets you go through the academy during the evenings, but it will take about 7 months to finish, but you come out with everything you need, radar, intox, etc. There is also a school at Savannah Tech, Armstrong, and one in garden city now. Anything else I can help you with let me know.

I am not quitting my job.

This is more of a personal development idea.

When I went, the only option I knew of was Armstrong, and I had to quit my job to go. Now I know there are more options, and some you can go to at night. Wish I could be of more help! depending on what you need, I do have some gear you could use.

Thanks.

I am not at this point determined to go, I am still looking into the feasibility.  If it wont fit in with my current occupation, than there is no way for me to do this.  I am the sole breadwinner and already have a good career.

There are some colleges that have night classes that are taught by post instuctors.  It takes a little longer than the normal 11 weeks, but you wouldnt have to quit your job.  I would contact Post and find out if any colleges down your way offer this program.

I might be wrong, but I think Savannah Tech offers night classes.

Thinking of going for arson inspector?

And you wouldn't happen to be going to that picnic thing next weekend, would you?

Will your station let you switch to strictly nights? Go to the Sav Tech January academy, then we can be in the same class.

So I guess borrowing your brother's 'extra gear' is not going to be an option for me, eh?

I talked to the chief, and it is unlikely that they can let me do this.  I am still perusing my options.

It should still be an option. My dep't carries 1911's, plus I'm wrong-handed, so I can't use his stuff anyway.

Even if I didn't already know where you work, this would have given it away!

Congratulations on the academy slot, are you going to the road?

Lol yeah, I didn't think about that until after the fact. Once out of the academy I'm hoping to get on the road as soon as a slot opens up.

Best of luck to you! Have as much fun as you can while you're in the academy.

I carried a 1911 for about two years, but I just switched back to Glock. Carrying a G21SF these days, and I love it.

I thought Savannah-Chatham carried Glock 21s?

Thanks.
