Please post if you are attending and with how many if any guests. I still have to contact the range to make plans. I wanna try to get a group size so lets get the list going Made arrangements today. I have to fax him some info tommorrow with a call back number but he said no problem for Saturday OCT 23. I didn't tell him we would be butchering and consuming a pig though.

Do you know how to get on the LIE? LIE to Exit 71. Keep right and make a right turn. Go about a mile down the road, and go slow. Watch for a dirt road comming off to the right w/ a wire gate. Once inside, last time I was there, construction equipment and material on the right, small road off to the left with a 'rifle range' sign on it. BTW, I remember hearing of Skeet or Trap at Calverton. Anyone here ever shoot clays there? I want to get some extra practice before I go duck hunting (probably the weekend after that). |

We would NOT tell the Red Baron that he could not attend!!! I just recently poicked up some pictures of the Baron that were in an office at Zahns airport in North Lindenhurst.
You MUST attend hungry and with full AR15-M16 magazines! Believe it or not, you dont really need an AR15... Bill H. |

The last time I was there (about 18 months ago) they sold ammo and mags. Also I believe
Wholesale guns and ammo is not too far away. This will be my first time to one of these also. Any pointers..... Steve |

What are the restrictions on the types of firearms I can bring? Any magazine restrictions? |

Pistols, of course require a NYS Permit. Magazines should be unloaded and separate from the weapon. Other than that I can't think of any other restrictions. |

i just went to calverton for my first time today.... i usually goto other ranges but they are all "load 1 bullet at a time" slow shooting type.....
just wanted to let everyone know who hasnt been there, its more or less bring everything you need. all thats provided for you is a bench and a treestump (literally lol). now dont get me wrong, this isnt a bad thing, i loved it .... very unrestricted there. i ended up shooting off of my bookbag which i had in my car and i happaned to have a bag of scilia gel (900 grams) in my ammo box which i used as a sandbag so it worked out very good lol. |

Sounds like the situation my wife is in. My wife asked well in advance. First, they tell her that she has the 23rd off. Now she finds out that she no longer has the day because someone senior to her wants the day off. If she calls in sick, she will not get paid. This sucks big time! I'll figure out something.
