I have to present at a symposium in Russellville in a few weeks (I'll be there overnight) and know nothing about the area at all.
Where is the good eatin' and where is the good gun shoppin' (if any)?  Thanks!!!

WOW...I'm shocked!
 Russellville is the town closest to where I grew up. I graduated high school from there.Try Dependable True Value behing the Mc.Ds. It's on Hwy 43 and Waterloo Road. It's been so long that I don't know where anything is anymore. There's an OK place to eat catfish about 5 miles North of Hwy 24 on Hwy 43--on the left in a new building. It's called Catfish Haven. Just about everywhere to eat will be on Hwy 43. Muscle Shoals is about 12 miles North on Hwy 43 if you'd prefer chain resturants. PM me if you want to. |

Lots of illegals and their associated crime in Russellvile....I'd have my favorite concealed carry on me. There used to be a good fish place south and west of town a little ways. Back east on Hwy 24 in Mt. Hope is a fine little steak house.... O'Bryan's

Just to follow-up: I stopped by Alabama Gun & Pawn on Hwy. 43 -- saw it as I was driving by and just stopped in on a whim.
Glad I did. The nicest guy (I believe his name was Patrick James) was running the place. We had a nice conversation & I walked out with a brand new Ruger 22/45 Mk III (at a very good price) in spite of myself. They don't have a great selection or a particularly large stock, but what I saw was priced fairly and I will certainly stop there again if ever I am back up that way. Pretty country up there, BTW.
