Who stocks Ruger hunting rifles in Waco? My uncle borrowed a Ruger 280 from a guy who originally wanted to sell it then changed his mind. My uncle thought he'd be able to use it this weekend and was practicing with it, but the guy wanted it back this week. Now my uncle is frantically trying to find another 280 Ruger.

I loaned him a 30-06 last year, but he said it kicked too much.

Google guns waco and 8 shops come up.

Yes 280 is a good caliber but the recoil is the same as a 06 since it is made off the same cartridge and I have rifles in both calibers that I shoot often.

280 remington will proubly be a special order item though since it is not a 'common' caliber so he may have to wait.

I have this caliber in a remington mountain rifle, ruger m77 and a ruger no.1. All shoot under 1 inch at 100 yards. The remington will proubly be the easiest manufacturer to find.

280 is one caliber I own. I have 30 some rifles in 223 to 30-06 that I compair to. The 280 is a very good compromise between the 270 and 06 for performance btw.

Good luck on his search.

Praco is probably the bigger store in Waco for selection.

You might try Ace Hardware in Hewitt, Texas. They have a pretty good selection of rifles, pistols and used. If they don't have it they can get it. Chuck who works there found a friend and I, 2 Dan Wesson bobtails about 3 weeks ago. Their prices used to be higher than Praco, now they are about the same, Ace is even cheaper on some things.
