Well, I'm not going back to McBride's even though I really like their 'smiths so I need Austin area recommendations.

I don't know where he is anymore, but you could try to find Hank Fleming (he used to office out of Just Guns on South Congress).  

Just curious, why won't you go back to McBride's?  Also, what is it you need done?  Could you WECSOG it together?

I need the tang of the wife's pre '64 Winchester model 94 drilled and tapped for the Lyman #2 peep sight I bought for it.  I could probably do it myself, but the gun is too nice to risk an amature hack job.

I generally avoid McBride's unless I want to experience some sticker shock. I've had good luck with Alan Smith at ART enterprises. He did some work on my IPSC gun, and at the time, he was *the* guy for that kind of work. It was almost 10 years ago, so things might have changed.
