Those are rumors, as they are in Baton Rouge, Dallas and Lafayette.
In Houston, we had something like 40,000 evacuees. 45 of them were arrested, mostly for possession of marijuana, or PI. Possession of less than an ounce in La nets you only a traffic ticket type citation, whereas in TX you get a misdemeanor. |

I have not been in that area myself (and I won't) but I did speak to a couple of HPD officers and they said, yes, auto break-in and fights have dramatically increased.

I've heard it's just rumors. In Baton Rouge and Lafayette, the local news reporters are doing their best to squash these rumors as the same stories have been told in New Orleans, BR, Lafayette, Houston and Dallas... Even down to ages of rape victims and rapists names....same guy, same age in all five cities.. |
