Damn, I'm tired.  Weapons qual this weekend... shot 40 of 40 with my M4A1, and got to shoot this big bitch -



Full-auto 40mm belt-feed grenade machine gun, for those of you who haven't seen one.  Vehicle mounted, like this:

Nailed targets out to 1500 meters.  I was also told by the RO that I was the fastest getting on target that he'd ever seen.  Shifting from the 400 meter zero target to a 1500 meter target, the standard is to aim using the T&E mechanism and the turret, adjust your sight, and put three rounds on the target within 1.5 minutes.  I did it in 26 seconds in a 10mph crosswind.  The wind drift at that distance was about 100 meters.  I'm pretty proud of that .

Aren't those fun?  I remember back in my days as an M.P., we got to shoot those annually.  Not too many people had them back then other than us and some high-speed infantry types.

We have two of them in the MICO...we just used the MPs Humvee to mount them on since we don't  have a hardtop.
